I have been to a number of cosmetic dermatologists over the years for Botox, Ultherapy and various facial fillers. Though these included many who were well known in the field, on average, I would give them a B rating for results…at least with my face. So, becoming more and more concerned that my face was now losing a lot of its cushion and firmness I was determined to find an A+ doctor. I was recently given a solid recommendation on Dr. Julia Sabetta, citing her experience and know-how in cosmetic fillers. And, no wonder. First, her bedside manner: connecting with me, determining my facial aging concerns first and foremost, as well as budget(!)-- then inputting with professional insights and a realistic point of view. She suggested Voluma and offered me a promotional incentive: with two vials of Voluma, I would get a Juviderm vial, gratis. Immediately, I signed on. Together, we mapped out a going-forward plan for appropriate "fillers", During the procedure, she showed great acumen in choosing the best "locales" to place he filler and a strong aesthetic sense of just how to inject the fillers, while ensuring that I was kept comfortable and informed throughout. As well, respecting the limitations of my budget, she used the serums judiciously and strategically: ensuring that I would get "the most for my money". Two weeks later, I truly look years younger --and actually see cheekbones for the first time in a decade! Thank you, Dr. Sabetta. You ARE ahead of the pack….and as good as they say.
I see what you see. Concavities (depressions) on the face create shadows that contribute to a prematurely aged look. In my opinion filler, intelligently and judiciously placed by a skillful “core” physician injector is your best bet. “Core” physicians are Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, Oculoplastic Surgeons, and ENT physicians. For your cheekbones, filler should be selected and placed to LIFT more than to fill. This will soften your shadows and give your face a more oval and less round appearance. I hope that helps you.
Hi there, The CLASSIC aesthetic guideline has been that the lower lip can be three times the size of the upper lip. More recently an additional aesthetic style has evolved of the lips being about equal size. To dissolve or not to dissolve the filler is totally up to you and your personal preference. If you are asking my opinion, let me say this- firstly, I see what you see. In my opinion, alll in all, your lips are still in a believable range for size and balance, so I don’t think you “ have to” jump in and dissolve the filler to reduce the size of your lower lip. You could allow the lower lip filler to gradually resolve. Ultimately, especially when it comes to lips, it’s your choice based on your personal aesthetic If you want a home remedy to try to encourage the gradual resolution of the filler, I suggest you try warm water compresses. I hope this helps you decide.
The condition you describe sounds most consistent with" acanthosis nigricans" which you can think of as a thckening of the skin surface which then appears dark. But don't rub or abrade or apply topicals in an attempt to thin the surface- that may be counterproductive. Peels are not a treatment of choice for this. Best to have an office visit with a board certified dermatologist who will examine you to properly diagnose and treat you. As you can imagine, guessing merely from your description is ... Guessing ! An educated guess, but nonetheless, a guess.
Great question! Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers stimulate collagen production in nearby skin, which is considered to be good a thing for anti-aging. If you have a deep depression at the "tear trough" region, Restylane is often considered to be the filler or choice. For this location especially, the experience and training of the injector is vital for best result and SAFETY! Good news, in this location, filler tends last, so re-treatment will likely be yearly or less. I wish you well.
Fractional laser resurfacing, non- ablative which means non- cutting is a gentle, and effective way of improving a myriad of scars, as seems to be the case on your forehead. There are multiple brands of this device such as Palomar/Cynosure. Treatment is performed as a series. Your deeper saucer shaped scars may then benefit from a medium G ' dermal filler. Your doctor seeing you at the time would be the best judge of which filler and at what level to place it in your skin for best improvement. I wish you well.
