According to the current literature, as well as what I see in my practice, the effects of Botox can usually be seen within 2-3 days of treatment. Of course some patients will notice changes the same day where as others may have a delayed onset or even need a touch-up after 7-10 days. The key is to explain this to patient ahead of time in order to set appropriate expectations and improve satisfaction.
Along these same lines it's helpful to explain to patients that the effects they see will likely be different from those of their friends because the facial muscle function/level of activity varies quite a bit across the board. They should also be educated about potential side effects, such as levator paralysis, and informed that regardless of how effective the treatment, the effects are only temporary. This means that the majority of patients will need repeat treatments every 4-6 months but with caution to keep injections at least 3 months apart to avoid boosting the immune system.

I had an extended arm lift and medial thigh lift in May 2021 and my results are amazing. My scars are thin and so well placed you can barely see them. I plan to return to him for a tt, mr, lipo 360 and a bbl in December. His office staff is great and doesn’t try to upsale you on things you are not interested in. Dr.Cox is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel completely comfortable and confident in him and his work. I talked to him for like a yr before i even scheduled. I had 50 million questions and he answered them allllll. My surgery was Sep 25, 2020 and i was supper nervous the day of but Jessica his office manager was the sweetest and helped calm me down. It was my first surgery and i had lipo 360 bbl and mini tummy tuck. They took really good care of me before and after. Even though i didnt want pain meds Dr and Jessica suggested i still take a RX. Thankfully my husband listened to them and not me it saved me (you will need them lol). I dont do well with pain meds but they were life savers. They prepared me with pre op, post op and the meds i needed. They educated my husband in how to take care of me including sending me to Juanita for massages. I love her by the way she really knows what shes doing. In between Juanita and Dr.Cox they took complete care of me. Im almost 5 weeks post op and dr is still following up with me and making sure im ok. My recovery has been tough but Dr even went as far as paying for a massage session with Juanita to encourage me. Which just made me burst into tears because I could use all the encouragement <3 recovery is no joke. Even if its listening to you complain, cry or vent Dr.C you have been there. Gracias. I've had multiple plastic surgeries by a few different surgeons and I wont go to anyone else now. Dr Cox is the best. He is honest and doesn't try to up-sell you, is realistic about what results to expect (which have all been beyond my expectations still), and is very involved with post-op care.
