In January 2022, I had a 360 body lift surgery at Poggi Plastic Surgery. Dr. Joseph Poggi is a distinguished plastic surgeon whose surgical skills, expert knowledge, and aesthetic genius are unrivaled in Wichita. Hundreds of excellent 5 star reviews, along with mine, attest to his gifted surgical mastery and his exceptional staff. Especially Celeste, who is a beautiful gem and the kindest of people. Please read each one of those reviews on a variety of websites such as Healthgrades, Vitals, Google, Yelp, Real Self, etc. and then choose Dr. Poggi for your plastic surgery needs. You can have confidence in those of us who have entrusted our bodies into Dr. Poggi’s skilled hands that we have not only received world-class results that could give a professional model or two a run for their money, but our confidence, self-love, and self-respect restored. He is a fun-loving and charismatic person who cares about his patients and not just their looks, but also their lives as he strives to improve them with shared insight, invaluable wisdom, and enthusiastic optimism. While Dr. Poggi is well mannered and professional, he is also a man who is playful and witty, who will put you at ease with engaging humor and thoughtful compassion. He is as close to perfect, not only for a plastic surgeon, but also as a genuinely first-rate human being as they come. You can judge for yourself if my surgical results are perfectly beautiful!
I'd had a consultation with one plastic surgeon before meeting with Dr. Poggi. After having met with Dr. Poggi, I realized just how uncomfortable the first surgeon had made me with his unprofessional and dismissive behavior; Dr. Poggi was the complete opposite! He was incredibly respectful, an excellent listener, wonderful at communicating, and an absolute delight to speak with every step of the way! He made sure that I understood the procedure I would be undergoing, and that my expectations were realistic. When I came out of surgery, he'd done wonders: I looked the exactly way I'd always seen myself. In my mind, my breasts had stopped growing long before they actually did: although I was a 32GG/H, I had thought my breasts looked like they did when I was a 34D/DD for YEARS. When the veil over my eyes finally slipped off, so my mental well-being plummeted: it's a long story, but the sum is that I finally understood why my body was always in so much pain, why I could never find clothes that fit without looking decidedly promiscuous, and why people recognized my bust before recognizing my face. For the first time, I hated my body and how incredibly dysfunctional it had made my life for so long without me even realizing it. That's a different story, though-- let me get back on track. To me, Dr. Poggi is not only an incredible surgeon, he's my savior. I came out of surgery, everything healed perfectly, and I literally looked the way I'd always thought I did (plus some light scarring). I no longer suffer from the physical and emotional pain of overly-large breasts-- which is the expected outcome of this kind of breast reduction-- but because of Dr. Poggi, I can also say I had an exceptional experience leading up to, during, and following surgery, with results that I'm absolutely thrilled with. I hope to never need plastic surgery again, but if I ever do, Dr. Poggi is my first choice for surgeons!
I can say with confidence Dr. Poggi is the BEST plastic surgeon out there. I’ve had breast augmentation surgery and most recently belt lipectomy surgery. It’s absolutely amazing to see my before and after pictures & I couldn’t be happier. Also, I gotta send a shout out to his nurse, Celeste, who’s been there to help care for me each time I visit his office.
Five stars all around! From my initial consultation to my final follow up appointment, Dr. Poggi, his NP Celeste, and all of his staff were all excellent. After dropping from 250 lbs to 125 lbs, I was left with a lot of excess skin. Dr. Poggi came highly recommend by some others who had surgeries similar to what I was looking at (a lower body lift).Dr. Poggi is knowledgeable and most importantly - honest. He will be upfront about you about his recommendations on how to best achieve the results you want, he won't just tell you what you want to hear and take your money. He is about quality over quantity and you'll never feel rushed during your time with him.He and his team will go above and beyond to ensure everything runs as seamlessly as possible. I can confidently recommend him 100%, and will be back in the future for other procedures myself.
I didn’t have a lot of confidence with my appearance, but was also super nervous about going through a surgery to change what I didn’t like. Dr. Poggi and his staff were amazing from beginning to end!! He really listened to what I wanted and made it happen!
Dr. Poggi corrected another surgeon's 'botched' job from 3 months prior. He really listened to what this woman wanted and gave me the youthful full breasts I had wanted all of my adult life. I cannot sing his praises enough. An amazing surgeon and human being. His entire staff was wonderful, and they all adore him. That says a lot.
I am a 42 year old mother of 2 that has struggled with my weight all of my life. Two years ago I made a life style change and with diet and exercise I was able to lose over 100 pounds. Not realizing that I would never have a flat stomach or be able to lose the loose skin and extra tummy fat that I was still caring around I decided to have a belt lipectomy done by Dr. Poggi and let me tell you it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The knowledge and talent Dr. Poggi has is beyond the words that I can find to express how happy I am with his work he did on me. He knows what he is doing and can explain anything to you that you don’t fully understand about the procedure you are having done. Dr Poggi is such a talented Doctor and tells you up front what to expect before, during and after surgery.
Amazing doctor!! My results are fabulous and i cant Believe how flat my stomach is! Excited for my next surgery already! He was upfront about what needed to be done. He gave me a cost and was always professional.
8 days post op LBL and wow. Much harder then i anticipated. After having 4 csections i thought this would be comparable but this is much harder! My next appt is Friday and I’m praying some of these drains come out. I have 4. :( I ‘m very swollen in my lower back and outer thighs where i had lipo suction. Just looking forward to being healed and moving forward. I already look 100% better and I’m only a week out. Updated on 24 Oct 2018: Amazing!!!!! This man is a miracle worker! After having lost 100lbs from weight loss surgery i decided to look into skin removal. After having several consultations for just a tummy tuck Dr.Poggi was 100% honest with me about what was needed. So we decided to do the Belt Lipectomy or Lower body lift. The best decision ever! The recovery for me was hard. I dont do well on pain meds so at day 5 i was Off all of them. That made for a rough journey but here Iam day 30 and feeling like a million bucks! He is more then just a surgeon he’s an artist at what he does. He knows his stuff and will not sugar coat anything! If you want it done right go to Dr. Poggi Updated on 27 Oct 2018: One month post op Belt Lipectomy. Feeling so much better and moving more! My incisions look nice and are healing well. All drains are out. Can’t say enough about Dr.Poggi and his team. Wonderful, talented surgeon! I’d trust nobody else with my body. When they say you get what you pay for they’re not kidding! He goes above and beyond to make you look smokin! Anytime i have questions i call And his nurse Celeste calls back promptly and answered them. Can not wait until all the swelling is gone so i can Model some new clothes!!!
I just had a tummy tuck with lipo from Dr Poggi. I love the results. My love handles and flank were liposuctioned and I now have a trim waist and flat stomach. My new belly button looks natural and he even minimized and lowered some scarring(to hide in my bikini) I had from a previous surgery. I have had no complications from this surgery. Be warned he can be somewhat unorthodox in his comments/jokes. Just ignore them or laugh. Results are what matters after all. I am an RN and know several RN's who have gone to him based on his skill. I would highly recommend him.
Congratulations on your weight loss journey! The need for muscle repair will be at the surgeon's discretion at the time of surgery. Although you have not had any children, you may still have had some separation of your tummy muscles. There is subcutaneous fat beneath the skin (which you have most definitely lost with your weight loss) and many people also have a component of intrabdominal fat (which is harder to lose). Intrabdominal fat is found beneath the tummy muscles and has the potential to put excess pressure on the muscles, which can cause them to spread apart. This is a common reason men inquire about tummy tucks too. This can be discussed during the physical exam with your PS. Regards,
I would recommend you call your PS and inform them. It should heal just fine with some antibiotic ointment and a bandage with daily dressing changes. Depending on what type of suture and closure technique your surgeon used, this could be a stitch abscess. Some suture material is absorbable but can occasionally come to the surface before dissolving. This can cause a small pimple like area and can continue to fester until the suture material dissolves or your surgeon removes it. Removal is easily done in the office in seconds and will promote quicker healing. Regards,
We recommend patients take 2 to 6 weeks off work when recovering from an arm lift (brachioplasty). No lifting more than 10 lbs and no raising arms above shoulders for 2 weeks after surgery. Also, no activity that will raise your blood pressure for the first two weeks. You could go to work at 2 weeks with light duty for an additional 2 weeks (total of 4 weeks with lifting restrictions) if necessary. Another thing to factor in is if you are attempting to keep your procedure private. You will have restricted range of motion for a few weeks and find yourself guarding your arms, which will be apparent to those around you. Sometimes going back to work too soon can also lengthen your recovery time merely due to fatigue. Best wishes for a smooth recovery! Dr. Poggi
You appear to be an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck. One thing to consider and unable to comment on is whether or not you would also benefit from flank liposuction or a lower body lift to more aggressively contour your waist, hips and buttocks. These are questions that can best be addressed by your board certified plastic surgeon. Be aware that if the surgeon you consult with does not do lower body lifts, they may not recommend one. You are on a good site to get started with the education you need to arm yourself with good questions for your doctor. Good luck. Congrats on the family and recent weight loss!
While photos help demonstrate what is bothering you, there is no comparison to an actual exam. It may not appear to have changed in 4 weeks to you but does appear to have improved from your 2 photographs. At this point, it really could be either. Some clues to its cause would come from closer exam. Firm possible fat necrosis versus edema. Compresses with finger pressure...edema, improves with wearing your garment....edema. If the area is soft and pliable, it may represent an area of residual fat. My recommendation is that I would follow this up at 6 months...If still present, I would recommend treatment with spot liposuction which could be easily performed in the office. One of the things to ask your surgeon about prior to surgery is how such fees get handled. Are revisions and touch up's deemed necessary by the patient and surgeon covered as part of the initial surgery fee?
