Before my treatment with him I was very self conscious about my face and symmetry but Dr. Joe helped me find exactly what I need in a very friendly way, I'm no longer afraid about having Botox or fillers and my confidence got a really big boost!
Hello, Thank you for your question. I believe you can use a combination. Of Mono and Twist threads to achieve some volumization of the vermilion border of the upper lip especially in the cupid's bow and the philtrum to achieve the appearance of a shortening of this area. (The results of this can take months to show, there is usually an initial change although the long term effects if the these threads is what would make the most difference). The use of dermal fillers in the correct areas where there is likely loss of volume and directly on the philtrum as well as your upper and lower lip (to maintain symmetry) would be the way I would approach it. I can also understand that if the filler is not done to a very high standard and with the doctor knowing exactly what you want to achieve, it would likely deliver a unsatisfactory result. I hope this helps and you find someone who can do this treatment for you. Kind Regards Dr. Joseph Novoa Libermann M.D A&E and Aesthetic Doctor
Hello, Thank you for your question. I am sorry this has happened to you. You can try with a vibrating device such as an electric tooth brush or massager. Apply the vibrating end to the muscles that have been affected and with some luck it will settle quicker. Unfortunately it is not an exact since and it doesn't always work but I would give it a go anyway. Just a few minutes a day, 3 times a day. If it helps. Please let us know so that others can use this technique if they are ever in the same position as you. I hope this helps and you don't have to wait the 2 or 4 months for this to resolve, although this is possible and likely. All the best. Dr. Joseph Novoa Libermann M.D Aesthetics Doctor A&E Doctor
Thank you for your question. I completely agree with the other two answers. Although uncommon, you can have dry eyes after Nuerotoxin around the eyes. It can also cause dry nose, dry mouth, double vision and difficulty in swallowing. All very rare. But all should be non permanent as the neurotoxin (Botox) defect will only last 3-4 months. If it doesn't resolve by this time, I advise you see your Doctor who has done your treatment to review if this could be cause by anything else. All the best.
Hello nightingale111, Thank you for your question. In my experience, the recommendation I make to my patients, is to continue their lives as usual. The recovery will come inevitably, the healing will not be significantly affected by your facial expressions, but your mood and anxiety levels about it will. So I always say, Just don't go and purposely make funny/very expressive faces the first week or so, but otherwise just normal laughing and smiling and speaking and everything. :) Hope this helps and that your recovery is quick.
