The women who will most benefit from Mona Lisa Touch are sexually active women suffering from painful intercourse due to thinning of the vaginal tissues. There may be a slight "tightening" effect and also some patients report increased sensation during sex. Women with urinary problems may benefit also. You should not have active infections, undiagnosed abnormal Paps or severe prolapse if you are considering Mona Lisa Touch.
You should be able to resume your normal life immediately after the procedure. Mild external burning may be treated with anesthetic cream, which your doctor will recommend you purchase before your procedure. Sexual intercourse may be resumed 48-72 hours later (we recommend waiting a bit to allow the tissues to heal.)
As with anything in life risks are present. The good news is that the risks associated to the Mona Lisa Touch procedure are minor: mild external burning and vaginal spotting. Both of these are self-limited and clear up in 1-2 days.
