The optimal distance between the sternal notch and the nipple can go from 19-21 cm. Any further we can begin to consider different grades of ptosis of the breast 1-3º grade. A breast lift is recommended when the proportions are out of the optimal distance. It would be important to know some background story, if during your consultation your surgeon performed a series of measurements to ensure that you actually needed a breast lift. A way you could find out is if you do some measuring yourself. Sometimes the absence of scars doesn't mean there hasn't been a lift because it can be done internally, although it only applies in particular cases where the ptosis isn't as prominent. I hope this can clear some things out! Greetings!
