I had my LASIK procedure done yesterday morning and the minute they were done I was able to see, little foggy, little cloudy, but today is my second day and I can see my television from my kitchen and read the words as well it is amazing the staff is wonderful the doctor is such a great doctor I have never been so happy to go to a doctors office amazing amazing amazing experience and I would highly recommend him to anybody. The price is great and affordable and they treat you very well with good care the best doctor's visit I've ever had better than going to the dentist thank you all. Michell Ursua :)
As an athletic physician who worked in a Level One trauma ctr. with long shifts (>24 hrs. with little sleep) glasses and contacts especially were hard to tolerate. After meeting the physician, staff and touring the facility I had B. Lasik done ( 1 eye at a time) and had an excellent result! The procedure was done under sedation and I was very comfortable. Followup was thorough and Dr. Dishler was always available to answer questions, and the entire staff was extremely nice, professional and a pleasure to deal with during all my interactions with them.
Wanted to improve vision without contacts. I had Lasik done approximately 10 years ago with a guarantee for free touchups. When I called his office, this past summer, regarding blurry vision I was first told by his office they didn't guarantee. When I finally convinced her to pull my chart she said oh yes I see you had it done when it was guaranteed. Well, sorry we don't do Lasik anymore and you cant' do PRK after Lasik. His website advertises he does do Lasik still. They just don't want to honor their promises.
While it might be possible to have your vision changed from full distance to monovision, it is many times not possible to safely lift a flap after LASIK many years later without risks. Therefore you might be able to have PRK over the LASIK but this is "off label" (as is any retreatment) and you would need to discuss it with your current provider. It might be worth trying to wear a contact lens to simulate what your vision would be like in one eye with this change to determine if you really like it.
While it is unlikely that the tail of your dog hitting your eye 5 days post op did any damage, if you noticed any changes in your vision beyond 24 hours, I would get it checked by your surgeon to be sure there was no movement of your LASIK flap. This could be easily corrected but if you wait too long, and it did move, it could heal in the wrong position and be more difficult to correct.
Many times there are small wrinkles in the flap after LASIK, and if they are at the edge of the flap then they usually do not impact vision. Sometimes there are more significant wrinkles, especially if the flap has moved in the immediate post op period. These are best addressed at the early post op period where the flap can be repositioned to remove any wrinkles. Dryness can increase the chance of wrinkles, and in these cases like yours usually using more artificial tears and/or the use of a punctal plug to retain moisture can be helpful. As long as the vision corrects to sharp 20/20 I would not worry but as always we recommend having the surgeon double check if you are concerned.
I do not think this is likely connected to your LASIK, but if you have a sudden onset of more floaters, and see a "fly" in your vision, it sounds like you have had a vitreous separation. This is usually benign, but if recent onset, and especially if also associated with a sudden increase in floaters, you should have a dilated exam to be sure that there is not an issue with your retina that if left untreated could lead to a retinal detachment. This is unlikely as I said, but merits an evaluation.
Enjoy your cup of coffee, more likely to get dehydrated at the gym. I am not sure why you were told to avoid caffeine, but at this point in your recovery, I think you deserve a Starbuck's!
