The Photos Speak for Themselves

Had a right side DIEP reconstruction with a left side reduction post mastectomy (no radiation or chemo). The DIEP flap was originally placed 4.3 inches too low and was half the size of the reduced breast. The reduced side required 2 revision surgeries for the nipple areola complex to be placed in a 'more medial position' and for the areola to be made round. It's still off to one side and is now heavily scarred and has a cone deformity. The left mound was moved superiorly in two subsequent revisions (5cm & 6cm). Despite having asked 3 times prior to the DIEP surgery if doing a stacked DIEP would be preferable due to limited abdominal tissue, he insisted it wasn't necessary. Now, he states he's out of ideas and says further reduction of the left is not advised as the size fits my frame. A total of 4 surgeries later and I still need to wear a prosthetic.
