Procedure/doctor: I did full body liposculpture, ab etching and bbl with Dr. Garcia. I have to say the guy really knows what he's doing. He's detailed, meticulous and takes his time to carve your body. He seems soo careful and listens to your needs. He did an extraordinary job, I love my body, it's exceptional! You will see from my pictures how beautiful he works, my jaw drops when I see myself, my hat goes off to him. He loves his job, this was obvious! I speak Spanish and so I asked him how he became the best, he said, "there are other great doctors. I really take my time". He mentioned (without names) that other doctors finish in 2 hours and when he steps out for a break he sees they are finished (he takes 5-6 hrs) and wonders "what could they have possibly done in 2 hours?". He's honest and really seeks to do a tremendously good job. I keep thanking him! My waist is so beautiful, my ab etching is like no other, wow! My legs are so beautiful, my back was stripped of all the fat. I'm 5'2 and weighed 140lbs. I lost 20 lbs after the surgery. His before and after pictures speak a thousand words! Other doctors don't come close to his affinity at carving bodies. I'm serious, he's wonderful. At the beauty salon, the workers told me that in Colombia everyone wants to do surgery with Dr. Garcia, but his consultation is too expensive for them. He's obviously popular in Colombia. I liked him, he listens and responds to your concerns patiently. Professionalism:1)The only disappointment I have is the level of professionalism at his office. It's not up to par with American standards. Communication is not the best, they don't explain anything. They ask you to wire some money and bring cash for the remaining portion. I was o.k with that. However, they took away my massage on the third day post-op because I was late, knowing I was foreign, I had to exchange money, buy food, I was bleeding, dizzy. After discussing all of the inclusions of the surgery and establishing the contract they should give you all that they promise. They don't even tell you that if you're late, they'll take it away.That's not right! I paid $8000 USD cash, give me my massages!! Also, the girls that work at the doctor's massage place also lack etiquette when resolving issues (point deducted for that too!). Massages are horrendous, painful, you have no idea!2) The girlfriend who happens to manage the office is money hungry! All those small things are stressful and add to the discomfort of the entire ordeal. They had no empathy or professionalism in the small things! Accommodation :I didn't stay in his recovery house because I thought it was too expensive ($1700 USD for 15 days) . Girl I met from USD said the food was o.k but repetitive. Cali's accommodation is a steal. So I stayed 20 minutes away at Hostal Alameda, in Valle del cauca. It was cheap to get to the clinic from here and close (F.Y.I Dr. Garcia's clinic is literally across Parque del perro. If Uber takes you there, it's just 10 steps). Only thing is not all rooms have laundry or air conditioner, so check the details.NURSE:I hired a nurse for 7 days @$40/day. This is so essential and necessary. I'll give you the number to my nurse she was excellent! Lina is her name. She gave me my medicine, helped me shower, came to my appointments. Stayed between 9-5. She is very sweet!Necessities:Office does not tell you of ALLLLL the things you need post-surgery. They only list the 10 diapers, medicine.... ect that is included (you need way more). This is stressful because I was post-surgery and had to worry about drainage pipes, diapers, tape, maxi pads to cover leaking sutures, creams... My nurse helped me a lot, but it's too much to deal with when you are recovering. The office does not communicate in all honesty about anything you will need. You are left alone and abandoned with that stuff. God bless my nurse!Things you can buy from U. S:-2 SHOWER CURTAINS FOR BLOOD Leakage underneath your body on bed. -tape (really hurts skin, so buy best one) for maxi pads that will cover your sutures.-plastic wrap for the leakage in your elbow sutures (this is constant and annoying). -massage cream for massages.-bring stage 1 baby diapers, you run out so fast.-anti-bacterial soapReview:Apart from my complaints of various things, the doctor will do the job strikingly well! He is those people with a passion. He changed my body completely, I can't thank him enough. Thank you so much! Updated on 21 May 2020: O.k so, it's been 1 year almost. My butt shrank a lot. Now, it's smaller, less round. Mind you, I haven't lifted weights for 2 months due to epidemic.im hoping to grow it in the gym again. My lower belly has more fat but it's still thin.i wish it was washboard flat but hard to maintain. My waist is less defined. If you lose weight, you lose your bbl so please please take care of your diet. Updated on 16 Sep 2021: Hello, I'm adding a 2 year update because it's important for you to see it through to make a decision. I am still very happy although after covid and no gym or workout have gained some weight. I am down to 124lbs but tummy hasn't been worked on but I still feel so good. I reached out to the doctor about inner thigh dent (only visible to me) and muscle trauma (hard to stretch left leg) and he didn't reach out. After surgery is finished, they are finished with you. But it was still worth it and I am grateful every day. When my body has been exercised I will post again. It went downhill BC of no exercise, but today I start my journey.
I was 175lbs before my sx. I am now 165lbs. Dr. Garcia was able to remove 15liters of fat. I was his only SX that day and i was very happy about that. My results are good. I need a rd 2 to fix a few things Updated on 5 Jan 2019: The Dr is great he got 15 liters on my rd1 and im content with my results. I am now waiting for my Rd2 pricing.. for him to look at a few things and fixed and to perfect my body. Overall im happy and hope to return to him for my rd2.
Ive been told the dr. extracts as much fat as he can and that he is a perfectionist which is good but it explains why you are in so much pain post surgery. This is the only reason why ive given 4 stars because of the pain ive been through other than that the dr. his staff and the results have been 5 *+ The drainage massages at first are extremly painful, I honestly felt i was living a nightmare everytime I had a massage and wanted to run away but roughly 4 massages later the pain decreased drastically. I’ve read reviews saying the dr.’s Massage lady - Jennifer is terrible and I see what they mean because you do experience a lot of pain but in fact she knows exactly what she is doing and is following the dr’s directions so what she is doing is actually so benedicial for you in the long run. My friend chose another dr. and masseus, 10 massages later she is still draining more liquid than I am and is showing signs of fibrosis, when you ask her about her massage she would say it wasnt very painful and that her massage lady wasnt very strong. I would strongly advise you hang in there and go through the first extremly painful massages to reap the benefits later. Plus she’s such a lovely girl I highly recommend Jennifer. I have not felt any pain with my boobs, the lipo pain has taken over but in general i am very satisfied with my results and am just hoping to finish my drainge soon and recover promptly.
The search for a doctor was a long process but after reviewing many doctors we (my husband and I) felt safe and assured with Doctor John Garcia from Cali, Colombia. We choose him because of his reputation and clear talent from his before and after photos of his patients. Most plastic surgeons know the mechanics of plastic surgery but don't have the artistic eye to craft the body into harmonious curves. John is different. He knew exactly what areas would be best to leave along and what areas to enhance. Couple that along with a great bed-side manner and you have a winner. In total there are five operations I had with Dr. John. Breast Augmentation, Lipo with J Plasma (which is amazing), Brazilian butt lift, Rhinoplasty, and chin implant. In this review I will only be talking about the breast augmentation. Stay tuned for the other operations when I have time to post them. Updated on 11 Aug 2018: I was brave in that I opted doing a so many procedures at once (BBl with lipo and j plasma, rhinoplasty, and breast augmentation). I would not recommend any normal patient doing so. Being of a nurse background and knowing my pain tolerance I knew I would be fine but there were differently some painful moments. The implants sat high and tight but didn't have much pain. The bruising you see in the photos is actually from the massage therapist "jennifer" which whom I would NOT recommend using. I tried to change therapists but there were no other approved therapists from the doctors office that made house calls. She massaged too hard and caused more harm than good I would say. It's not fault to the doctor's office because they contract out massaging services to another company but I would let the office know ahead of time that you do NOT want to use her services. That being said the doctors work was fantastic. I was worried about going UHP because I initially had in mind HP implants. However due to this being my first surgery and my chest width being narrow this was the best option for me to have the projection I wanted but also something that would fit my small frame. There is a lot of swelling in the photos and at first I thought I may have gone too big but most of the swelling went down around week four. I'll post more about that later. One of my nipples sagged a little before surgery (2 cm) so Doctor John made the pocket for the implant on that side sit a little lower to offset visually for the two breast which will look more balanced over time. This is one of the minor details that makes John different from other doctors. We opted for this route because I didn't want to have a breast lift just yet since there is a possibility of my husband and I have a baby in a few years and I wanted to keep the nipple safe. Note: If you are going after more cleavage your breast plate (concave or convex is what really determines that... not necessarily the implant size). Having a larger implant only moves the breast more in the natural direction of your chest bone projection. I have planned surgery for July 2018 (mommy makeover) and I'm now wondering if anyone has any reviews for Dr. John Garcia Serna? He's in Cali, Colombia. Updated on 3 Jan 2019: I got my procedure done 6 months ago and wanted to wait in order to give a review because I wanted to be sure. I absolutely LOVE him and his staff. His nurse still texts me to see how I am, she asks for pics, he still txts me too! I love my results, he gave me exactly what I asked for, natural. Colombia is wonderful, its people are great, very welcoming. The massage therapist is excellent although at first you hate her because it hurts sooo much. After surgery you are in horrible pain and their pain meds suck, I took Percocet and Codeine with me and the Dr. said itwas fine. He took 11 L out of me, 17 L out of my friend, EXTREME!!! That's the reason for so much pain but its also the reason you get great results. Super doctor, super staff, super facility, super post op care!!!
i went to Colombia, to do a arms lipo, chin lipo and a breast lift, due to the fact that i am Colombian i though i would get better results there than here in the US, unfortunately i feel rob cheated and lied, by the doctor and his medical staff, I told him the main reason for doing the arms lipo was the upper arm fat I had fat in my whole arm, but my main problem was that area, in which he did a terrible job, removing all the fat except for that area, leaving my arms fat in the upper area and skinny in the rest of the arms ,now the fat is hanging, looking like an a**, you will see it in the pictures, my breast was hanging down, and i wanted a lift he perform a minimal lift since he didn't cut enough breast tissue, reposition the nipple, or cut more skin so my breast would have had a tense look, you will see the minimal fix he did leaving my breast still droopy and my nipples still looking down, like i said it was minimal lift and i didn't pay for a minimal change, i pay for a full breast lift, my chin lipo, was a disaster he did it so aggressive, that he touch my mandibular nerves leaving me for 2 months with my mouth twisted and smile completely twisted too, with all this said, about his MEDIOCRE results, he is not accountable or the clinic, for the mistakes in which he is denying all my complaints and refusing to fix my arms or give me the money back for the bad breast lift results, this clinic Corpus and Rostrum is a joke, and the dr John Garcia, too, he claims to be a super start doctor but in reality is only fame and marketing, his breast lift work is mediocre and he is not detail oriented with shaping your body in the small areas leaving you deform like he did with me, you will see in the pictures the minimal change i had in my breast, my twisted mouth, and my deform arms., i had felt angry, depress, and i regret to have done all this procedures ,with him, when i came back to Miami, they wont give me attention with any medical question only after many many hours, they don't care if you are in pain. especially in Colombia they are always in vacation or is always a holiday, they would leave you days in pain with no medical assistance ones you come back to the states, with the excuse that is a holiday or they are busy in surgery, i got surgery in October and ones December came, i was in pain for 10 days and they never reply i had to go to the urgent care here in Miami, think his specialty is not the breast or the detail areas in the body, apparently he only knows how to do wide areas like the back and the belly, judging by all his Instagram post.
READ ALL / see all pics of before and after! My body has been left so much WORSE off since Garcia operated on me in November 2020 - this is an example of his ability destroy your fit body! I’m a 23 year old, 175cm, fit guy, however when I was a teenager I put on a lot of weight quickly and then when I lost it I was left with some loose skin just below my belly button, but NOTHING major to the eye or camera (as you will see on my pics), only if touched it was noticeable. As an adult I have maintained a very fit active life and usually weighing in at 70kg. I travelled from the UK to have surgery with him as I genuinely thought he was above board... oh was I wrong.... I had a HiDef lipo sculpture with fat transfer to glutes, with J plasma, chest defining and chin lipo with j plasma on the 12th November 2020. The skin on my stomach is tighter as a result of the j plasma but it is not consist, some parts are tighter than others and around my core is bloated/pushed out ... the muscle underneath feels damaged, causing pain and aches months on, particularly when I stretch.. there’s so much more wrong... When I sit down, I get a thick line / swelling along and under my belly button. My belly button is weird and the skin inside has scarred strangely. Also under a light, you can see the contour irregularities in the lipo and how it is not smooth and the dents in my torso and just below below button. My love handles/hips are not symmetrical... this was one one of my biggest concerns to him and requests to ensure my waist was snatched. I have also got a constant muffin top when I put clothes on, even underwear or light shorts/joggers (which I NEVER had before), it’s even worse when I sit down I get a huge and unattractive tire , which makes me so insecure.When I lay down, my abdomen and hips and pushed out and bloated as such. I don’t understand how my body is bigger, wider and thicker, and this was something I noticed very soon after surgery to which he dismissed as ‘inflammation’.. now more than 4 months down the line... he can’t keep using that excuse and he’s gone silent... I am lead to believe that this is a result of very bad scar tissue (and it makes sense, he boasts and prides himself on being very aggressive , what a mistake). The next problem is the V lines on my waist, I requested him to define them... however, one (left side) is unnaturally defined and the skin is droppy / flaccid over the marking causing it to be overly marked and the right side is very faintly marked - I spotted this week 1 post pp, and typically for months on end Garcia has said oh swelling swelling... I see no chest defining , and he said over time my chest would lift slightly, but it hasn’t... also I have scar tissue behind my right nipple, it hurts a lot and is very hard. I also have the same under right arm pit and a lump in the middle of my upper abs.I recently noticed the hole/hollow bit (everyone has) in my right armpit that I used to have , is no longer like that and it’s like the muscles there is no longer tight and subsequently my armpit dip is flat..?As seen on pics, the glutes are bigger than before, but also not symmetrical and the hip dip on right glute is deeper than the left one!Now the WORST bit... I wanted to tighten the skin under my chin... I didn’t have a double chin before, but I didn’t like how the skin was (albeit normal) when I put my chin close to my chest ... I wanted to get it very chiselled like a models jawline (not that my jawline was bad before , it was great!)At the clinic I asked the dr about tightening this skin and he said about chin lipo with j plasma... THE WORST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. This is partly my fault because i didn’t need it at all, and I had a really nice jawline and definition... and unfortunately Garcia has botched me my face and body and takes no responsibility for his actions...God knows what he has done, but my chin is deformed and extremely tiny, when I smile it’s wonky, tiny and ugly (he reckoned it was nerve damage initially and said it would’ve got better alone by 3 months, now 5+ months on zero change... I don’t trust his word). My face was already slim and chiselled... now it’s gaunt, my chin is like a pin... the skin under my chin is puffy (like my hips). It seems the skin on my neck is pulling down too much therefore the skin under my jawline is covering the sharp jawline definition I had before.As a result, I have actually LOST definition of my jawline and he’s worsened how the skin sits and when I put my chin down and when I speak I have a slight double chin and thick skin??! ... also if I stretch my neck out, two lines appear (platysmal strings) and hollowness between them... Which are ugly, hurt to touch and make it hard to shave. When I questioned Garcia he told me oh it’s normal that now the skin is tighter they will show... ridiculous and outright ludicrous... lastly some of the scars are bad, beneath my left ear is thick ugly and noticeable , as well es under the chin it’s thick and left armpit.His clinic staff are more or less pleasant when you are there at the clinic though you sit waiting for hours as if you were in A&E. the shocking thing was NOT once whilst I was in Colombia did I get a text or call post-op asking how I was, if I was alive and kicking, or even when I left the country... and I have sent countless messages, of concern, worries etc .. and he would reply over a week later just brushing everything off as ‘swelling’ and that I need to be patient until 3 months, now he’s time has ran out as I’m at 5 months .. and he is missing in action... gives pathetic rude responses says nothing of use. He has deactivated his INSTAGRAM account and his google page has suddenly got 9 NEW 5* FAKE reviews... the poor people in his team having to do that , after a few months ago some clients posted bad reviews (complaining about a similar problem that I have now), unfortunately just after I had surgery, had I seen them before I’d have never let that monster touch my body. I questioned him about those reviews and of course he blamed the patient saying she wasn’t following proper aftercare... ironic she suffered and so am I .. and I have been so incredibly thorough with my aftercare, because I was so determined to have the best results possible! A doctor like him will always hide behind the ability to blame ‘technology’ (Jplasma not sticking) and patients aftercare, the reality is going into his operating room is like going into the slaughter house. I am not the type to write reviews, not good nor bad but I am beyond fed up of his constant off putting and nonsense voice notes explaining that everything is inflammation, and that I need to have patience, rather than accepting responsibly of his pure negligence. Everywhere he has touched me has a problem, I would not recommend him in a million years. He will DESTROY your body. DO NOT make the mistake I made! I have been robbed as this man isn’t cheap!!! Daylight robbery - $27,500,000 pesos (8000$) plus all the extras you must pay at his massage clinic , drugs, hotel, flights etc ... and wants EVERYTHING in cash... to not pay tax!! And he also only declared officially $ 16,000,000 ok the receipts ... works out to way over 10k... I would’ve been better off getting it done in proper competent hands in Europe with a doctor who has morals, dignity and half a clue about what he’s doing!My advice would be to avoid at all costs!!!!! Any questions feel free to ask me, I am sharing my experience 100% honestly.. in the hope no one has to suffer what I did, both physically and mentally. This has really destroyed my life at the moment and is consuming me mentally... later this year I will need to focus and try to find a competent surgeon in London to help with the necessary revisions.*since the surgery I have had around 3ml of filler injected into my jawline and chin to try and make it look better...
I had SX on December 10, 2018 with John García. I had lipo 360 including arms and thighs, jplasma and BBL. I was happy with my results EXCEPT this “seroma, fat pocket, fat necrosis” that was on my left cheek. The pocket was created during surgery, Garcia stated that it was “inflammation” and I told him that I was willing to stay longer but he made me feel comfortable so I trusted him. 3 months went by, it’s still there, no pain, no fever, no infection, not smaller or bigger, just there. I contacted him again and he told me that it’s my body shape, the way I wear my panties which is ridiculous because I seen bad shaped dolls coming out like Selena and Beyoncé . I put it in the groups, nobody knew, a few comments here and there but the symptoms didn’t apply to me.. Garcia contacted me and intimidated me to remove post.. like a dumb [RS bleep] i did.. he made me feel bad, he told me I should’ve been grateful that I didn’t die or get and infection... after that, I became isolated, depressed, just stopped caring. Not even google knew... I even went to Plasty Munecas in NY that have seen it all and NADA. Garcia stopped responding also. Last week I made an appointment at Dr. Dimarios office( which by the way I’ve always loved his work) the nurse also had no idea but told me I needed to be drained. She went ahead and drained me for almost 3 hours (pictures attached) liquid and fat came out. I contacted Garcia with video and pictures and just told me that’s normal my body refused the transfer. The nurse said that doesn’t make sense. I came for a follow up 2 days later and she starts draining again.... guess what comes out???? A piece of rubber from a glove!!!!! The fat never attached to my body because something foreign was mixed in!!! What kind of negligence is that? She said that me being 4 months that she doesn’t understand how I am not either fighting for my life or that part of my butt rotting off... she decides to contact Gacria.. the nurse responds with, that’s impossible she didn’t have an “open surgery” then we send the video and she states that Garcia uses the thinnest and finest cánulas and he will get back to us *crickets*.
I'm a post bariatric patient who lost 140 lbs. which resulted in a lot of loose skin all over my body. I had skin removal surgery in NY from arms and legs. Since I didn’t want implants it took me two years to gain the weight in order to qualify for the fat transfer. Dr. Garcia quoted me for $5200 for the Vaser Lipo 360 and $3000 for J plasma in the above mentioned areas. I will posting the before pictures soon. My procedure is scheduled for 2/20/2020. He also will be doing J plasma in my arms since my elbows have to loose skin especially in my elbows. Updated on 6 Mar 2020: Procedure went well. Surgery was 6 hours long and he removed 12L of fat. However, it is so painful. Im 15 days post of and still in pain. J plasma is no joke and leaves you with a burning. I am not burned though. Bruising was minimal on my end. Dr Garcia and his staff were amazing and always checking in on me. I saw Dr. Garcia 6 times in a 9 day span. He is always available and his staff as well. I did not stay in a recovery house. I rented an Airbnb and hired a 24hr nurse for $1800 for 15 days (food included and 6 round trips to the clinic or spa). The nurse was always with me, went to my appointment and was my tour guide. She is so kind and patient. I’m more than glad that I hired her because I wouldn’t survived in a recovery house.
