This patient is a year and a half after otoplasty surgery and has frequent redness around the ears. My answer would be the patient is having some type of inflammation. It can be from the sutures used during the case or inflammation from the surgery itself. I do not have surgical reports to show the technique used i.e. whether cartilage was removed or just scored or just sutures placed which can cause an inflammatory reaction. I recommend following up with the surgeon who performed the operation or get a second opinion. The new physician will need details on the operative report from the otoplasty.
