Robyn Vandermoor, Registered Nurse, Refine Cosmetic Clinic

I have been seeing Robyn Vandermoor RN, Refine Cosmetic Clinic, for cosmetic injections including Botox for several years. The outcomes of Robyn's injection work are always very good. Because she is a superlative injector there is never any guesswork, never a bad result. I took this for granted until I moved to a well-known area in the US this year. My experience since moving here - as far as getting a good result from a qualified injector - has been less than good. I am living in an area famous for cosmetic work. Yet it is impossible to find an injector as good as Robyn. I have had a couple of terrible results and sorely miss Robyn's expertise. To that end, I flew back to Toronto last week to have Robyn give me cosmetic injections. I've learned that the cost of an air ticket to Toronto is a small price to pay if it means getting the best. And Robyn is the best. Updated on 18 Jan 2017: I have been seeing Robyn Vandermoor RN, Refine Cosmetic Clinic, for cosmetic injections including Botox for several years. 26 Year Old Female, First Time Lip Fillers, Teosyal - Toronto, ON

DAY 1 I was motivated to get lip fillers for a number of reasons: 1) To improve the definition around the boarder of my top lip. Up until very recently, I had severe scarring from eczema around my lip area especially around the top and corners of my lips. This caused the pigmentation and contours of my lips to take on a very "flat" shape. 2) To correct some asymmetry in my smile due to TMJ. 3) To address the deep wrinkles that have formed on my severely dried lips. Hopefully adding some volume will help with this issue. Prior to consulting with Robyn, i've consulted with several injectors in the last couple of years but feeling slightly uncomfortable as many of their pictured results focused on volume but not the shape of the lips. Recently I meet up with a new friend and noticed her very nice lip contours, she mentioned fillers in passing. I decided to go with her recommendation to see Robyn for a consultation as both her work is represented well in person and the small gallery on her website. PRE-PROCEDURE Although Lip fillers are not too invasive of a procedure, like any medical procedure, it carries a small risk. In order to minimize the risk I did the following: 1) Trust my procedure to a certified and highly experienced health professional. 2) Switched to a low sodium, no-alcohol and low vitamin E diet a week prior. 3) Stashed my freezer full of yogurt popsicles. :) CONSULTATION Although I was slightly nervous, my consultation with Robyn was comfortable. After she thoroughly explained the procedure, product choices, recovery, my medical history and expected results I had a quick chat with Dr. Coutts. I decided to have my fillers done right after my consultation. My lips were closely examined again to confirm what I wanted for my lips. I wanted a subtle augmentation with a slightly noticeable difference. PROCEDURE Firstly an alcohol swab was used to cleanse the area then a topical Lidocane cream was then applied around and on top of my lip area for 10 minutes. During this time she showed me the filler product and how she uses it. Robyn has a unique way of injecting filler that prevents the all feared sausage lips and minimizes bruising and swelling. Because she is very gentle and uses her special technique I barely felt the needle enter my skin, only when she got to mid area of my lips did I feel some pinching. POST-PROCEDURE I was given an adorable ice pack and lip balm. I made an appointment for a two-week check in and might consider a touch of botox for my chin area during this meeting. I found it especially considerate that she checked in the next morning to see if my lips were doing well. I forgot to take a before picture, and I’ll ask to see the one Robyn the next time I’m in for a check up. This is a recent awkward selfie that demonstrates the issues I was looking to address with filler. PS: If you liked this review, please PM me for more details. The cost was 565 Canadian for first time patients (including tax) for 1 syringe of Teosyal. I could not put down a Canadian price for the "total" cost section so I converted my costs to USD
