had been contemplating a tummy tuck for years before covid planned on going down to Miami to get a deal surgery. Well as soon as the restrictions for elective surgery were I started reresearching local surgeons because I wasn’t willing to travel that far with all that was going on. I thankfully came across Dr. Roach and was impressed for multiple reasons at the before and after pictures of past clients. Once I met Dr. Roach and Kristi I was even more impressed and confident I found the correct surgeon. My BMI is higher then I wanted or to be what most surgeons would consider the perfect candidate. But knowing Dr. Roach completed his surgeries in a hospital setting and ordered additional testing to include bloodwork and a CT made me completely confident in going forward with the surgery. I had a short timeframe of when I could get my surgery and they made that happen as well. I am now 7 weeks post op and could not be happier and any questions or concerns that came up were immediately attended to or answered, which really put me at ease. So many questions can come up before and after surgery that you can’t imagine. Both Dr Roach and Kristi made this whole process comfortable and that helps a lot when you are trying to recover. The only thing I would of changed is that I just wish I would have done it sooner! Also when considering plastic surgery pricing can make some people lean towards these specials and bundle packages that some practices offer. While Dr Roach maybe on the higher end for this procedure he is well worth it for a multitude of reasons but once you talk to him will see it’s not about the money. While I was in for my initial visit I asked about other procedures and he explained why either a I didn’t need it or b I wouldn’t be happy with them. Most other surgeons would have gladly added on procedures Dr. Roach was honest and caring about what I truly needed and would be happy with. That meant a lot and was yet another thing that lead me to know I was dealing with a surgeon.
So a little background on me. I have been heavy all my life. I grew up in Milwaukee. I averaged about 270lbs. I was ok with this. I am not meant to be a super small. I also know I am not meant to be 270lb but I was healthy and happy with myself. I then moved to Iowa. I blew up. My highest weight was 410lbs. I was depressed, diabetic, high blood pressure and barely able to move. I needed to make a change or I would never see 50. Never meet my grandchildren. Never be me. I started changing my world. I worked very hard and lost 185lbs. After that kind of loss you are left with an incredible amount of skin. Here starts my journey that will interest you. So I visited several different surgeons. After some considerations I decided to go with Dr. Roach of Bayside Plastics. He wasn't the cheapest but his work was amazing. I now know I made the right choice. He is worth every penny to give me a new lease on life. Here are my arms. The pictures speak for themselves.
I was definitely nervous, I went to my consultation Monday May 8th and scheduled my surgery the next day. My doctor made me feel very comfortable and at ease about the surgery and we both understood the difference I wanted to have after my surgery, he stated he wouldn't underfill and he wouldn't overfill and due to my frame I'll be at a c cup after the surgery which is what I wanted, something natural, but noticeable as well. The cc's aren't discussed, the cc's were determined by my doctor during the surgery, I had my incision done under the breast with silicone implants under the muscle. After the surgery I was very hungry and tired, my throat was a little sore after, but it didn't stop me from eating. I woke up in pain about 2 in the morning 12hours after the surgery and took pain meds until day 3 post op and continued taking my meds to prevent infection. I had a one week follow up and my doctor said everything looked great and to continue wearing my surgical bra until the next visit and I was could take a real shower Updated on 24 May 2017: Everything is looking good and it's been happy healing, a little bit of nerve pain in the right boob, but that's been just about it right now, doctor still recommended no lifting for a few weeks or so, I'll keep you guys updated when the time comes for sizing.
