I have had a wonderful experience with everyone here as I pursued my options for FFS. From the consultation a few months back, through pre-op, surgery, and now one week post-op, I couldn't have asked for better treatment from Dr. Beck and his staff.

I am also super happy with the outcome! I'm healing quickly and everything is looking great even after just a week. I had to come from out of town to work with Dr. Beck and it was 100% worth it!

Charlotte Nc has some extremely talented surgeons and can be extremely overwhelming at first searching for the right one for you.
But for me there was one who checked every single box.
First impression- Elegant, inviting office. Never felt rushed, felt I was truly listened to and given detailed suggestions and ideas. Felt understood on my desires and what was a realistic outcome.
The surgery suite is top notch. You can tell every small detail was well thought out during the planning of this and I feel our area is so incredibly lucky to have this!
Staff- warm, friendly and genuinely caring! I would be here all day if I listed my care team by name and spoke their praises. They deserve it!! They have input and will share it, Dr. Beck not only listens to them but engages and they work together during consults to make sure everyone is on the same page! It’s refreshing!
Dr. Beck a gentle giant. Incredibly patient, well spoken and is such a humble person. The way he interacts and speaks with his staff really stood out to me. You can tell they all work together and are a true team, that is important to me! The care he provides to all current and prospective clients is remarkable. I felt he didn’t see me as having what I considered flaws that have contributed to some self image issues I have/had. He saw me as a human being. Someone with areas of improvement that I have not been able to achieve on my own with countless hours in the gym or watching what I consume. Pregnancy wasn’t kind to me, 100 pound weight gain and loss during and after pregnancy with twins will create issues exercise and diet will not completely help. He broke everything down for me in a way I could comprehend to help reach my goals of the ideal shape I had in mind.

I recently had Motiva breast implants (just recently approved in USA) in March 2015. Dr. Joel Beck performed my surgery. I have a history of breast feeding two children for a year apiece. This left me with very little breast tissue and loose skin. I always had to wear push up bras with extra padding to fill out a top. I was very hesitant to get implants due to fear of capsular constriction, scarring, infection etc. I finally decided to at least attend a consult to get more information. Dr. Beck and his staff were very kind and understanding. They answered all of my questions/concerns and did not pressure me in any way. I was thrilled to find out that a new breast implant that has been used for years in Europe (Motiva) was just approved and I ended up being the first patient to receive it in the practice. They sit on top of the muscle and have no risk of constriction. The recovery is much easier than other implants and the look and feel is natural. The surgery was easy, in and out and I was able to go out to dinner with my husband that evening. I only needed to take pain medication a few times and I iced several times a day. Back sleeping was very difficult for me so my sleep was definitely not good for several weeks. But it was well worth the result! I am very happy with my result and can say that there was no need to be anxious under Dr. Beck and his staff. The care and expertise were top notch.

Everything was extremely professional, the entire team was wonderful and caring, overall an amazing experience. I got face feminizing surgery performed and my biggest worry was anything involving my nose since I've heard of rhinoplasty horror stories but not only does my nose look better now, I can even breathe through it much easier. Dr. Beck's expertise is evident upon meeting him, you can really feel his 20+ years of experience when talking to him and it fills you with such ease that what would normally be a scary process becomes easy.

I got my forehead reduced, fat moved to my face, and my nose reshaped to fit the change in my forehead. This was based on his analysis of what would be most feminizing for me and although I had my doubts at the start I decided to follow his decision and everything else that I thought was wrong with my face was completely fixed with how well he balanced and shaped everything. Well worth the money. I'm still bruised otherwise I'd share photos but even my healing has been fast and without any complications.

I definitely recommend Dr. Beck to any trans women that want to get FFS but are worried about quality or finding a good surgeon. I found him as the only surgeon recommended in the area from trans surgery directories and with the results and care provided I can say that he absolutely deserves the recommendation.

Everyone was great. Made me very comfortable. Beautiful facility. I stayed overnight and they took very good care of me. The doctor and nurses all have great bedside manner. They were very accommodating to me living far away by limiting my in person appointments.

Only one day post-op, but I am so excited about my results! Dr. Beck and his team are amazing, and you can tell that they really enjoy their jobs. Not only do they have perfect bedside manners, but they were also as excited about my procedure and results as I was! From the inital consultation to pre-op appointments to surgery day, the experience was fantastic. Everyone was very understanding about what I wanted as a non-binary individual who has had dysphoria about having a big chest for a majority of my life. I asked for him to go as small as he could, and he absolutely delivered! I greatly appreciate how comfortable everyone made me on surgery day, as this was my first ever big surgery. I especially appreciate Lisa for advocating and making sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I truly don’t believe I could have gotten a better experience anywhere else.

Fantastic! Dr. Beck understood what I wanted with my breast augmentation even when I couldn’t communicate it well. His work is superb, he has amazing bedside manners! He took his time answering any questions or concerns I had and I couldn’t be more happier with the results! His whole team is Superb! Top notch treatment! I went to Dr. Beck for a gender-affirming (FtM) mastectomy and nipple grafts. I’ve had many experiences with doctors and other clinical practitioners throughout my life, and I’ve never met a team as friendly and guiding as Dr. Beck’s!

Whenever I talk to anyone about my surgery, they are always shocked to hear that I chose not to go under anesthesia and instead was awake during my operation. Of course, I was numbed and inhaling nitrous oxide (laughing gas) throughout the procedure. Honestly, I am glad I chose not to take anesthesia, partially since I didn’t have to deal with the post-anesthesia effects and also because I found the experience much more enjoyable awake. I could speak with Dr. Beck and his team and ask for updates during my surgery. Best of all, I got the chance to see my chest after my surgery was finished before they wrapped me in my chest bandage (my nipples and incision lines were already bandaged first).

Not taking anesthesia is never going to be something I’ll regret. It isn’t as scary as it may sound, and there was practically no pain after my chest was fully numbed. Dr. Beck’s team checked up on me and ensured I was all right the whole time. They also did additional things at my request to make sure I was comfortable throughout my surgery.

Thanks to not having taken anesthesia, I was back home pretty much right after my surgery was completed. I took my medications as directed, and the recovery pain was pretty much obsolete after just a few days. Many other people I’ve spoken to who desire top surgery expressed worries about having to manage drains, but in my experience, the drains were not very bothersome. I kept them pinned to my bandage most of the time so they’d be out of my way.

I got my wrap bandage and drains removed after a week and then wore a compression binder and nipple bandages for a couple more weeks to protect my healing nipple grafts.

It’s been over a month since my surgery now, and calling it life-changing is an understatement. I’ve always had terrible gender dysphoria that affected nearly every aspect of my life and made me unable to do things, even the smallest things that my dysphoria deemed “too feminine”. But, because of this surgery, practically all of my gender dysphoria is gone, even in areas where it would seem like having a chest or not wouldn’t make a difference. I’ve never felt so happy and comfortable with my body ever in my life before now. I could not be more thankful to Dr. Beck and his team.

Look no further! There are a few ways to describe Dr. Beck and his lovely staff.
First, I find them all very genuine. As a patient, you are treated like family. An utmost care and attention to your emotional and physical needs takes place here. Dr. Beck shows much care toward your wellbeing and happiness. In this office, you feel seen, heard and worthy!
Next, mastery comes to mind. I appreciate Dr. Beck's skill level and experience. Without a doubt, he is meticulous and finite in his work. He has truly mastered his field. His team is confident and knowledgeable as well. You are surely in good hands from start to finish! I love the bond they all hold amongst each other too. You can sense the camaraderie in the building immediately.
Last, I would like to mention healthy. I feel connected to Dr. Beck and staff because they radiate healthful lifestyles. Dr. Beck's commitment to modeling good health speaks volume to me. Naturally, he promotes healthy living. He takes excellent care of himself, which in turn allows him to take excellent care of you.
