I wanted to look good for my son's wedding which was going to take place 3 weeks later. I reached out to Dr. Gendler for botox on my forehead, and he suggested that I also needed filling along the lines of the mouth. He came to my house, and we spent time reviewing what could be done. He took pictures before and after. The whole procedure lasted about 45 min.
Not much difference as bother similar in action , Dysport may act a little faster & last a little longer but it's like Pepsi vs Coke , whatever your taste . Try with experienced injector who uses both , can't hurt
Avoid Juvederm for @ eyes , try Belotero or Restylane & don't overdo , u can always put more if indicated . This is an advanced area for experienced injectors so be careful who u select
Reviewing your photos I feel u do have relatively full lips as opposed to some who genetically thin or those who have lost volume thru age . It is noted your lower lip is appreciably larger than your upper lip , your wish lips r more symmetrical so aim for that . U have a small mouth so not too much increase , do incremental enlargements . Nice cuspids bow so u don't need a lot of shaping . My preference is Voluma for duration as lips absorb product faster than other facial regions . I use a microcanula technique for less discomfort & potential bruising . Good news is Voluma has Lidocaine which makes a smoother procedure , all in all not a bad experience ! Costs vary among localities & injectors & products used , avg between $ 600 - $ 1000 . Results r usually dramatic & must get used to new look
To explain Botox units u need to know the dilution used to reconstitute the Botox powder in a new bottle of the product used . This has varied since the introduction of this marvelous discovery many years ago & it's approval to be used throughout the world . I rarely use the term units unless a patient is acquainted with this by others , rather use areas of function such as forehead , frown & outer eyes . As mentioned it's a little trial & error to start a pt & follow up in 2 weeks to see your results , often patients don't really know what to look for results & have to be educated . Most times it works the way u want but a little tweak is good if u stay conservative & try not to have the patient dictate against your experience & discretion . Usually u can it it right after 2-3 Rxs but u & pt must have patience! This is based on @15 yrs experience .
U definitely show some problems that have arisen after juvederm lip injections, Go see your Dr right away & get advice , it might not be as bad as your photos show !
