Amazing doctor I drive 2 hours to see her for my lip injections I have tried about 5 other people prior she does exactly what I ask kind skilled no lumps very little swelling and looks naturally enhanced very hard to find a doctor that can achieve this I will always go back to her the price is for half syringe which is great considering her skill
I have been to a a lot of dermatologists and I always come back to Dr. Jennifer! I love how she explains what issues you ate having in my case dark spots from some melasma. She prescribed medications and the always work on the first try! Love her so much i have referred my whole family to her.

At first I was afraid to do anything. My esthetician, Hiba Yunis, whom I have seen for almost 10 years for various facial issues, suggested I try one of the doctors there at Dermatology Institute. It was as if a Disney Princess walked in, but this time her ball gown was a white medical smock! Dr. Jennifer Rullan is stunning. Her knowledge of age, beauty, and "situations" is evident within minutes. I loved her spark of excitement to work with me to be a better version, not something different. She has a natural essence about her that I immediately was drawn to, and so I began... My consult was not rushed and was genuine. Dr. Rullan explained the different prodcuts available for filling in my eye wrinkles. I appreciated her approach, which was clear and cautious. I am 55 and should have started this a long time ago, but never had the gentle push I needed. Between Hiba and Dr. Jennifer Rullan, I knew it was the right thing to do. Seeing both of their faces, also, was living proof that I could get results, but not come out looking like a freak! The first time Dr. Jennifer Rullan used Xeomin on my eyes. It was fabulous! I had gone just one time before, and that was to her father, Dr. Rullan for my initial Botox party the year before. The Xiomen seemed to be a better fit for me, and was on special! The second time I went to Dr. Jennifer Rullan she used Dysport. She gave me the option, and explained that it is good to see which is a better fit for my own face. I believe the Xiomen is. A few weeks ago, I ventured in to a LIP Party (Volbella) at the office! There I was with lines on my upper lip, as if I was a smoker. (never) . I think the damage is from too many straws and birthdays! My lips were vanishing as I aged. I wanted the wrinkles to smooth out my lips to ever so slightly come back. That is exactly what I got! Dr. Rullan very carefully listened to my wishes, explained the procedure, and procede with her team of assistants. (They were wonderful! I needed the encouragement and softness they gave.) I was iced immediately and told to stick around for at least 15 minutes, during which time Dr. Jennifer Rullan came back to check on me. Two weeks have passed and my lips are so natural and fresh looking. I am grateful for the "start smaller" mentality that was provided. My eyes feel fresh and more alive, thus the title of this review. I thought doom days were here, but the gentle pick me ups have me hooked. The bedside manner and lovely personality of Dr. Jennifer Rullan is what kept me there and going back. If not for Hiba suggesting I try this, I would not be living a much more self confident life. Dr. Rullan is the best Dermatologist in San Diego! I was referred by my friend Hiba and now I refer her to all of my friends and family! I am always treated in a timely manner and feel as I am of utmost importance while I am there!

Dr. Jennifer Rulan is amazing. I was in an auto accident 40 years ago which created a large caved in appearance under my left eye. I had been to so many plastic surgeons to see if they could get it looking normal. A few told me I just needed juvaderm to fill it in. But all it did was create a lump. Jennifer said the scar tissue needed to be broke down first. After all these years I'm not so insecure about the scar. I will continue to see only Jennifer, she knows what she's doing!!
It is difficult to say exactly how many treatments it will take to remove those holes. Usually, it takes 3-5 sessions of CROSS TCA and erbium laser to improve those spots. It is a small area, so it is very affordable, but you will need multiple sessions and there is no way to guarantee complete clearance until we see how you heal and how you respond to the first treatment. Your description of a heavy eyebrow or the forehead not moving, is suggestive of possibly too much botox in the forehead (which means you use your forehead to lift your eyebrows) and/or movement of botox from the eyebrow area into the lower forehead. If it is your first time, this doesn't mean this will always happen to you, it just means you will need a different injection amount and technique the next time. In order to begin to feel better, I recommend you massage upward away from your eyes. Move hands from eyebrow up to the top of your forehead a few times a day for a few minutes and this will help! There should be no problem waxing before lip injections with fillers. Just make sure you inform the provider injecting your lips. Take care.
Your question is really good. It really depends on your goal and who is injecting you. Most of the before and after pictures you see of people are with about 60 units of botox and 7 syringes for fillers. It is possible with an expert injector, to inject in multiple areas with 2-3 syringes, but the expectation will need to be clear. For example, some tear troughs need 1-2 syringes, while others we only use half a syringe for mild improvement. Lips, at your young age and to maintain a natural look, with a single syringe you will be happy. Cheeks are where often times more volume can be used with subtle results, but it is possible with a single syringe to make a significant improvement. I would say it depends on the injector. In the area of town where we practice, the average amount we inject is about 1-3 syringes per person, despite the need for more, but just 30 minutes away, the average amount of syringes is 5-7 per patient. Fillers need yearly maintenance, so find a budget you are comfortable with and start with less and add more if you would like. In general, a simple answer would be a syringe per decade of life in age, for example a 32 year old would get 3 syringes, whereas a 50 year old needs at least 5 syringes, etc. Botox is also dependent on the injector. Average units for women is 50-60 in the US, but in Europe and other parts of the world, with different techniques, an average can be 30-40 units, based on dilutions and expertise of the injector. In our office, our average is 25-40 units due to different techniques and dilutions and goals for a more "natural" look. Good luck and unfortunately the answer to your question is complicated and depends on the injector.
If you have to choose between juvederm and belotero, you would pick juvederm. However, for lifting of cheeks or for filler placement along the cheek bone, you wouldn't pick these fillers. It would be better to use Restylane, Restylane Lift (Perlane), Voluma, or Radiesse (best option). Results vary between these fillers from 8 months-24 months.
