I had a terrible experience with another Plastic surgeon in town with a breast reduction. I was left lopsided...areolas like stop signs and painful scar tissue. I did a lot of research before deciding who I would go to to fix it since I obviously wasn't going back to the same surgeon. I went to Dr.Karp and not only did he treat me with respect and kindness... He made me feel feminine and whole again. He was able to give me even size breast and even though Picture Perfect was not what I was expecting because of the horrible nature of the previous surgery I can honestly say that he exceeded my expectations 110 percent and I refer all of my friends and clients to him. He is honest and candid about your situation and let you know all of your options before deciding with you not for you what would be best... And I have never met anyone who was not completely thrilled after having Dr karp complete their work.
Amazing doctor who takes the time to learn about you and your goals with surgery. I found him to be thorough and meticulous from start to finish and beyond! I refer all my friends and family and they have loved their results too! Great staff and amazingly talented surgeon. PS I am in healthcare so I know a good doctor verses a great doctor. DR KARP IS GREAT!
I would highly recommend Dr. Karp. He has done a primary surgery and a revision for a lift and bigger implants. He made me feel very comfortable and I was very well informed after my consultation. The entire experience was great!
Having never had much up top, I always knew I would get breast augmentation. I didn’t want anything crazy, just a natural fuller look. I had two children at that point so that didn’t help the already not so great situation. I asked friends who they went to and ultimately decided to go with Dr. Karp after several recommendations.
Hi! Figured I could make my first post :) I have a consultation on Monday 13th for a boob job. From my research I'm planning submuscular, silicone, possible high profile, 350-375?, and either periareola or inframmamary incision. Of course it all depends on what suits my body and what to Dr says. I'm 26, 5'4", 103lbs, hoping for a small D. I wear 32C in Victoria Secrets bras Also here are some "wish boobs" Updated on 13 Feb 2017: I had the greatest consultation. Dr.Karp was SO nice and funny. Made me feel super comfortable and he's very knowledgeable. Explained everything in detail and didn't rush our appointment at all. Overall I'm very satisfied with him and will proceed with him as my PS! Now I just have to wait and find out where to go from here! Updated on 17 Feb 2017: I got my dates set up! I can't believe this is becoming a reality!! Pre-op: March 1 Surgery!: March 20 Post-op: March 21 My stats now 5'4" 32B (C in VS bras) Wanting small D from BA I'm choosing Silicone and will have more details once I do my pre-op. 1 kid but didn't breastfeed I'll do before pictures once it gets closer. My feelings right now, excited, nervous, anxious on a low level. I probably won't be able to sleep when it comes to a couple days before! Lol. Updated on 2 Mar 2017: So I had my pre op March 1 and got all the information I needed. I do have to get blood drawn to check for anemia and also get a pregnancy test done. I got my prescriptions as well. I got to try on the boobies and we decided on 400cc-405cc. I have some asymmetry (right is bigger than left) it's not horrible but slightly off. I told the Dr he can adjust the size if it doesn't look good or whatever. I just don't want to be too big or too small. Updated on 3 Mar 2017: Currently 32B with some asymmetry. Left smaller than right. Angle may be weird due to me holding my phone to take the pics Updated on 20 Mar 2017: Today was the big day. I wasn't nervous at all just excited. I got in before my appointment just because we were running early (my husband and I) but the wait was only 15 minutes or so. My nurse was the sweetest! Her name is Toby and she treated me very very nicely. I went to the bathroom then went into the recovery room where I got dressed into these long stocking socks, medical robe and that adorable little net hat, lol. She took my temperature and vitals. I got my IV inserted and she asked me what I was there to do (just to make sure all the information was correct) Then my anesthesiologist came in to talk to me about how that all works since I've never been put to sleep. After all that was done I walked into the OR and laid down on surprisingly comfortable operating table, not to mention it was heated so it was nice and warm. My nurse stayed by my side awhile the anesthesiologist put medication into my IV and not even 2 seconds later I started to feel it. I became drowsy and sleepy. That mask was put over my face to breath into and a few seconds later I was out! Next thing I know I was awoken by voices of my nurse and Dr. I wasn't in any pain but did become nauseous (ended up getting sick at home) Once we got home my husband put me in bed and gave me my medication and I slept a few hours. I recently just woke up and was in no pain! I was able to get up on my own and go pee. There is some tenderness but it's very faint. Needless to say my experience was great. I couldn't be more happy about it!! Also, the implants I got are Mentor Memory Gel Silicone Smooth Round Moderate Classic Profile. My left boob has 445cc and my right has 405cc (I had asymmetry) but am surprised of the difference. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow. So until then I'll keep you updated! Updated on 21 Mar 2017: Today was my follow up. All they did was take my wrap off, clean my incisions and re-apply the tape. Also went over exercises I'll be starting on Friday. As for how I'm doing, fantastic. I have no pain at all, just some tenderness if my meds wear off. Obviously if you're feeling like you're okay, you still have to take it easy. So I'm being very careful. I can't lift anything 5lbs+ for the next two weeks. I have another appointment for next Wednesday, just another follow up I'm assuming and to make sure I'm doing my exercises correctly. Overall I am extremely happy with the results thus far now that I can see them! I know they've got some dropping to do, I can't imagine how beautiful they'll be then!! Updated on 22 Mar 2017: Just wanted to share pictures of the bandeau I have to wear. I'm a bit sore on both sides on my ribs, but other than that I'm still doing great pain wise! Updated on 27 Mar 2017: My incisions after one week Updated on 2 Apr 2017: Photos from 1 week 4 days post op Updated on 3 Apr 2017: So it's been 2 weeks! As far as the healing process goes, I know longer take any of the pain medication. Everything is going really well. Once in a while I get little sharp pains but nothing horrible and it only lasts seconds. I no longer wear my bandeau strap. I was told to wear it for another week or so or until I'm happy with where my boobs are at. I'm happy with how they're sitting so I chose that option. I have my month appointment on May 3rd and after that I'll be able to go bra shopping!! It feels weird not being able to wear one, especially if I'm out lol. Updated on 10 Apr 2017: 3 weeks now. Things are still good! I'm still very happy with how they are turning out. The only issue I've run into is some discomfort in my left breast, my thought would be since it's the bigger implant with less tissue, it's probably just stretching harder. But it only bothers me sometimes and not all the time. Like right now it's totally fine. I've been trying to be as careful as I can be when it comes to lifting and all that stuff. But, all is well!! Updated on 10 Apr 2017: Crazy to see how they change!
After years of careful consideration I've finally gone ahead with a (full) Tummy Tuck. I spent about 7 years trying to address my problem with diet and exercise. In general I didn't want to have the procedure. Didn't want to spend the money or take time off from my favorite activities. But I'm so glad that I did. If I hadn't been completely confident in my Surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey W. Karp. I don't think I would have gone ahead with this procedure. Dr. Karp is a "master" in the field of Plastic Surgery and we are fortunate to have him in Spokane. My surgery went so well and I could see immediatly that the results were going to be excellent. I never doubted that this would be the case and was never worried or nervous as my surgery date approached. Anytime you look to change your body thru surgery it's a very serious decision. I'm happy that I chose Dr, Karp and his great team. CP Updated on 5 Dec 2016: So now I'm 3 weeks post=op and the results are fantastic. My advice to anyone doing this is to allow plenty of rest. I did as little as possible for a solid three weeks. Dr. Karp will post pre-op and post-op photos of my surgery on his web-site.
I can not stress enough how important it is to do your research before settling on a surgeon. Please make sure they're American Board certified. I went to 8 doctors around Spokane and Idaho before choosing Dr. Karp and his team. They took care of me like we were friends. I'm so happy with my results and wouldn't go anywhere else.
After having two kids my innie belly button turned to an outie. I was really unhappy with how it looked. It was very difficult to find the resources to find who and how to get this fixed. I went and saw Dr. Karp about it, and him and I both decided a tummy tuck was a little too aggressive of a treatment. Although I do have some extra skin, we agreed that could be something to address with a mini tummy tuck later down the road. I changed the dressing today and I can already tell it's going to be beautiful! It's very swollen, with lots of stitches but I'll get a photo when I change the dressing again tomorrow. The procedure was done under local anesthetic and was essentially pain free and took about an hour. I can't wait to see it all healed up! Updated on 15 Apr 2016: Healing well! Some swelling, bruising and slight skin irritation from the bandaid, but it's looking good! Some stitches get removed next week I believe.
I went from 360cc saline implants under the muscle to 595cc silicone under the muscle. I have very happy with the look and feel of the silicone implants. Much less rippling and they feel so natural. I am very happy with the size, I'm 5'2 110 pounds. After breastfeeding two babies my breast with the saline implants were wide set and little sad looking. They now look like what I've always hoped for! Updated on 13 Apr 2016:
I have always been flat chested and dreamed of a more proportionate figure. My starting bra size was almost a 34B. At my consultation, Dr. Karp and I decided on 475cc saline implants to be placed under the muscle. At the time of surgery, they were over filled to 500cc. I am currently just under 3 weeks post-op. I could not be happier with the results. I will post a follow up at my 6 week post op when I know what my current bra size is. Updated on 23 Oct 2016: I am absolutely in love with my new look. My results are amazing. Depending on what bra I wear, my new size is about 34DDD. Dr. Karp is so amazing and I highly recommend him.
Postoperative swelling after face and necklift will vary significantly from patient to patient. The more extensive the facial surgery(skin, skin and smas, deep plane) all will affect postop edema(swelling). Postoperative activity of the patient, including but not limited to increased heart rate and blood pressure secondary to aerobic or anaerobic activity, having the head below the heart level all are factors in the early healing period. Fat grafting or transfer involves multiple passes of a cannula(blunt tip) or needle into the tissues and also contribule to the swelling. The initial edema typically subsides within two to three weeks , however, lymphatic drainage of the head and neck(the channels within the face that handle fluid and drain to the lymph nodes in the neck region) take many months to a year for typical reformation. Numbness at six weeks varies pt to pt (the specific areas of numbness would better define your question) and may take up to six to nine months for full evaluation. The nerve to the earlobe typically is affected from surgery close to or if directly involved with the neck part of the facelift. Obviously, your best bet is to stay in close touch with your plastic surgeon who has a more intimate knowledge of the procedure used and findings at the time of the surgery.
Advantages of implants(especially saline) placed under the muscle(pectoralis major) are less visibility(more natural appearance), easier evaluation by radiologist with mammogram to see breast tissue, and lower rate of capsular contracture(hardening of capsule around the implant). When you flex your chest muscle there is a more likely movement or distortion of the breast since the muscle attaches to the breast and so a patient who is a body builder in competition prefers the implant over the muscle to separate the muscle from the gland(breast) and thus less movement. Most patients would do well for the above reasons with subpectoral(under muscle) placed implants. Your plastic surgeon with a formal consultation is still the best way to determine what is best for you.
