Had my nose done today to shave out two bumps on the bridge and to refine my bulbous tip . This was an in office procedure . I had general anesthesia with a sedative . The procedure took about 2 hours and was an open procedure. I have two pieces of tape on each side of the bridge of my nose and stitches at the bottom and into the inside on each side . I have a splint in which should fall off in 5 days. Oddly, there is no pain. Updated on 8 Jan 2017: Day 3 was the worst for swelling and bruising . Still no pain . I'm assuming all my nerve endings were cut Updated on 9 Jan 2017: Cast fell off this morning, with a little assistance ;). The cast was the worst part , so itchy. Nose is still swollen, so no definition yet. Updated on 17 Jan 2017: Still swelling on bridge , tip and my left nostril is very swollen compared to my right one. Please someone tell me this is normal .

It appears that your initial surgery may not have adequately connected or "anastomosed" the muscle surrounding your mouth called the orbicular oris. A revision surgery could be done to better anastomose this muscle which will address the middle notching.
