I’m in the process of having the sleeve gastrectomy done. I’m 5’2 252 lbs. this is the biggest I’ve ever been. Up until 2 years ago I never got bigger than 200 lbs but since my last c-section (4/4/16) I’ve just exploded. I was a surrogate and got depression really bad and got on a multitude of medications, started nursing school And a full time job so the pounds just crept on. I met with the surgeon on March 14th. Had my nutritionist appointment on March 19th, the psych consult on the 21st. My surgeon sent Everything to my insurance April 3rd and I got my approval on Friday April 6th! I’m having the endoscope procedure done on the 20th of this month and that’s as far as I’ve gotten so far. Btw I have BcBs of South Carolina but I live in Illinois. Updated on 22 Apr 2018: So I’ve done the endoscope and everything with that was good. My pre-op apt is the 23rd. I just want to hurry and get it over with. I’m on day 3 of clear liquids and I’m sooooo HANGRY. I’ve had headaches all day since day 1 of the diet. (I’m prone to migraines) please let the next week fly by! Updated on 1 May 2018: So I had the sleeve yesterday morning and was in so much pain I didn’t want to do anything. Dr said everything went great. I’m Not hungry at all I barely want to drink water and the only reason I do is because how muc love you my thoat hurts. So last week at my 1 week pre op appt I weighed in at 252 lbs. yesterday morning before surgery I weighed 238 do I lost 14 lbs from the clear liquid diet. Updated on 19 Aug 2018: It’s now been almost 4 months post sleeve, I’ve followed my diet very well, due to work and school I didn’t start exercising until 1 month ago. Today I’m 184 lbs starting weight 252. I’ve scheduled a tummy tuck for December 17th and hope to reach my goal weight of 140 by then.
