Hi guys I had my testicles augmented with silicone implants by Dr James Elist about 18 months ago. I am happy with the six and look of the testicles but they are very hard to the touch and do not feel natural at all. In fairness at the time of the 2 minute consultation (I then had the surgery that afternoon as I live in Australia) he did tell me that he thought one size down was a more natural looking effect but he did not explain that the implants used would feel so hard - like if you were flexing a muscle, for want of a better description. That kind of hard, with no 'give' when they are fondeled. A;so they are cold to the touch as no blood circulates through them (obviously). He didn't mention that either. Every single person bar non who has touched them has commented on how hard they are. I guess its a pay off between filling out my shorts and having cold, hard balls. Still, after everything, the US$8000 fee, the discomfort of the post surgery healing and in my case the travel, I'm WAY HAPPIER now that I fill out my swimming trunks than before. And as far as surgeons go, he was nice, professional, and followed up with after care and got his staff to call me in Australia.
Hello gentleman, I flew out to Dr Elists office in Los Angeles to meet him. He offered me a quick 10 minute consultation. The atmosphere of Dr Elist and his staff was "rush hurry rush rush", it was a bit of a red flag. He and another doctor examined me, told me several times I was an excellent candidate for the Pneuma Implant Enhancement device. I asked him the success rate of his procedure, he stated 99%, and the other 1% are patients that don't follow instructions. He went on to tell me as he left the room, he said "Jim, it will change your life". I then flew back home, thought it over, and decided to go for it. Worst decision of my life. I arrived on surgery day, once again, everything was "rush rush rush" and he instructed men to walk a block to his surgery center. Little did I know or expect, this day would destroy the rest of my life. What they don't tell you, is, after insertion of the pneuma device, you automatically will lose 1" length. After 3-4 weeks, of meticulous care and hygiene, I developed a massive infection in my groin directly related to his procedure. I sent him pictures, he instructed me to be back in his office Thursday morning. Once again, in a very rushed fashion, he instructed me to walk a block back over to his surgery center. I went under a 2nd surgical where he removed the Pneuma device. After about 2 weeks, as the swelling had just began to stop, I noticed my once 5.5" length penis, was now only 2" long. In complete horror, I called Dr Elist back several times, he said that I am experiencing what he called "shrinkage" and that it is a normal part of the procedure, to be patient, and it will correct over time. He strung me along for about a year continually repeating it was shrinkage, all normal, and will correct over time. Well, it didn't, and it will never self correct. I did a bit of research on Elist before I decided to go with his procedure. Only found a few, most were positive. When I noticed my penis had never shown any remote signs of self correction, I dove head first back into the internet. This time I found quite a bit of information about Dr Elist and his procedure. I found a site that listed all the law suits that had been placed against him, at least 6 Medical Board investigations, and that he was placed on probation, restricting how many of these procedure he could do a month. Then I found PhallowBoards, a Forum dedicated to information on surgical enhancements for the penis, and a large portion of the forum were topics of discussion regarding Dr Elist. The number of men registered on PhallowBoards that have experienced the same exact experience and outcome I had was staggering. I learned a lot, and took what I had learned and searched them out on other medical websites to verify. Shrinkage, as Dr Elist called it, is in no way reversible. It is a permanent result of the scar tissue that forms from the initial installation of the Pneuma Device, which is further complicated by the removal of the device. In my case, as a result of the placement then removal of his Pneuma device, I had lost 3.5" of length to my once total healthy 5.5" I arrived with at Dr Elists office. After verification of all this, I cried so hard, I think harder than I ever cried in my life. He would no longer take my calls. Ethically, how can a human being do a medical procedure like this, with known and documented severe side effects, infection, severe loss of length, how can Elist do this, well aware of the suffereing and pain he has now subject his clients to. He has left a huge trail of wrecked lives behind him. My life is forever ruined and radically changed. My fiancé broke off our marriage plans after she looked at me in horror after I returned home after the removal. I suffer everyday, isolated and alone, for a purpose to keep moving forward. I remain stunned and shocked that he willingly knew the horrific side effects of his procedure but continues with a smile as he moves through life. I believe he suffers from some kind of mental illness, anyone with a conscious would never in a million years do something so dangerous to another human being like Elist does everyday. I tried to put in motion a lawsuit against him, only to find out in the State of California, for Medical Malpractice suits, the Statute of Limitations is only 12 months. I help my review will be helpful to men considering working with Dr Elist and his enhancement procedure. If my review helps just one man, than the time it took to write is worth it. God Bless, and Good Luck....Jim
The implant they put in me caused a loss of one inch of original length. It never looked natural, and it was very painful for months after implant. They told me it's removable but what they didn't not tell me is that it will reduce my natural size by many inches. I've had to go through four surgeries in less than one year to reconstruct my penis. The doctor does not have good bed side manners and rushes through all exams. He even did not use gloves many times when touching my areas he was working on.
Never peformed surgery I paid for. Fired me as patient, took my money and never looked back. Agreed on a removal of prior surgery, but never implanted the Penuma as we agreed on. Left with zero response except a you are fired from us letter and I never to this day still got the surgery! Received half but not full amount of what I paid.
Very long story short. My implant was done incorrectly, and upon removal, has left my penis 2 inches shorter and almost completely numb. The implant feels VERY unnatural. It's like walking around with an erection 24/7. Say goodbye to wearing jeans or sweatpants in public. Say goodbye to the comfort and flexibility of your natural penis. Say hello to constantly worrying about infection or protrusions years after the healing process has ended. Dr. Elist and the other surgeons tout that the Penuma implant is "safely reversible". This couldn't be farther from the truth. The Penuma implant is REMOVABLE, not safely reversible. You will not have the same penis as before. Please save yourselves the heartache and $16,000.
