I had a follicular unit extraction performed by Dr DeYarman in June of 2016. It was an amazing experience. I love my results. Essentially I had some mild0 hair loss (thinning in front with a small bald patch on the left) so I had 1000 grafts placed to "thicken my hairline." I couldn't be happier with the product. It took about 6 months but I suddenly noticed my hairline was how it had been 10 years before. No more brushing it to the side or manipulating it a certain way to cover the bald spot. My only problem now is keeping it short enough to prevent it from going afro status again. As far as everything else it was a painless process. It took about half a day and I spent 2 days doing nothing. I was back at the gym in 2 days and surfing in a week and a half. I could've probably worked right away but I didn't want people to notice so I waited about 10 days. Be prepared to have the grafts/scabs about 2 weeks. The pain was mild - completely relieved by ibuprofen. Dr DeYarman's staff is awesome. His office totally has a relaxed vibe - the atmosphere set by his office manager/daughter Nicole. Also, after he chooses where the grafts will be placed, his artistic team comes in and will distribute the grafts. If you speak spanish, don't tell them until the middle of the procedure and they will realize you've heard their conversation the entire time :). We had a laugh about that and ended up talking the rest of the procedure. Dr DeYarman is a great physician. He puts you at ease both during your consult and the day of the procedure. He has trouble getting people to come back for their "after" picture so if you have time make sure you do. I live in Hawaii so it is hard for me. Still I couldn't be happier with my results
Dr. DeYarman had performed a number of traditional hair transplants 20 years ago to rework transplants a Dermatologist had performed over 30 years ago. He changed the 'corn rows' to invisible where no one could tell. When I learned about Artas Robotic method, I decided to fill in the blank spots. Over 1,100 hairs were moved around with terrific results. I moved to the Pasadena area, so it is not as convenient to drive to La Jolla for Dr. DeYarman's expertise, but there is no other specialist I would trust. Thank you Dr. DeYarman
Name is Eric Oster, a patient of Dr. DeYarman - Hair Restoration Procedure on July 17, 2017. If this rating offered 6 stars or more Dr. DeYarman and his staff they would earn every start offered. My experience beginning with Nicole Johnson, Patient Coordinator, meeting the staff, and Dr. DeYarman from start to finish was an incredible and rewarding experience. Selecting any doctor for a hair restoration procedure is a major challenge to ensure that the right questions are asked and most importantly patients are comfortable with the answers. All my questions were answered with a straight forward and understanding demeanor. I compared Dr. DeYarman with other medical groups and felt more comfortable with him and his staff based on their caring attitude and taking the time on several visits to answer all my questions. I had no surprises during the actual procedure that occurred on July 17, 2017, minimal discomfort and caring from the medical staff and I especially want to recognize and thank the medical assistance of Dr. DeYarman, who personally performed many of the delicate procedures and of the entire staff of his outstanding medical assistants: Jeri, Isabel, Maria, and Rosie. They all made me feel very comfortable, they identified every step of the procedure and always asked how I was doing. I have no doubt that the final results of my hair restoration procedure will meet or exceed my expectations and all because of the trust I gave the DeYarman Medical Group and their commitment to deliver what I desired with compassion and concern they demonstrated by their actions as to what was best for me. Kudos to the entire DeYarman team for what they have done for this patient, Eric Oster, and I have no doubt that future patients that option for the same procedure - your life will benefit from your trust in them.
Had a treatment with Dr. DeYarman about 2 years ago and I am extremely happy. I wish I could give more stars. He was really honest about my expectations and he was right on about everything. This has been quite a journey, and it is one that I am so happy to have taken. This has literally changed my life. Dr. DeYarman is an excellent surgeon who gave me a hands on approach unlike any other doctor I consulted with. The technology they offer is like no other clinic in San Diego. I am absolutely thrilled with my results and everyone is saying I look 10 years younger. I really wasn't expecting to have such a dramatic difference. I recommend going to meet with Dr. DeYarman for anyone that is concerned about their hair.
I've noticed my hair thinning at 21, but until recently have been unable to manage it with hairstyles because of extreme thinning in the front. The crown is thicker, but has been noticeabley thinning as well. Last year Aug 2016 I decided to finally get a FUE artas hair transplant. Dr. Deyarman recommended 1250 grafts in the hairline region only since I have plenty of hair in the crown that could be maintained using fin/minox/biotin etc.. It's been 5 months and so far I'm loving the results! I still have another 7 months to go. I've never been a daily maintenance guy but decided if I'm going to shell out this money for a procedure I might as well take care of my hair. So here's my daily regimen. Might seem like a lot, but I got used to it over time: Daily: 1, 5000 mcg biotin 1, 1mg finasteride (no sides so far) 2, 200mg magnesium pills 1, 1500mg msm pill Pura'dor hairloss prevention shampoo nightly (Amazon) Nightly 5% minoxidil (6 month supply Amazon) So far I feel a lot better about my look. I was scared the procedure wouldn't work and all these reviews I read before going through with it wouldn't work for me. Now my confidence is way up and I don't have to wear a hat every single day now. I'll repost in a year. Updated on 24 Feb 2017: Just came in for my 6 month post-op with Dr. Deyarman. We sat down and took follow up pictures and wow I am so damn excited! Before my surgery, the photos he took were with his DSLR camera with flash and my hair wet and hair combed back. Fast forward 6 months I can actually apply product in my hair and slick it back. Best decision of my life! FYI: I have a full daily regimen that I follow religiously for full results. So not only has new hair grown in the front, the rest of my head is also thickening
The procedure was about 4hrs, surprisingly painless, at times I dozed off, and they provided TV ,parking and lunch. Yes, I'm 35 w/ a receding hairline in the front and yeah it's vain, but you only live once and i can bald later-on. Just not ready right now. The aftercare appears pretty simple. Looking forward to the final result. Updated on 14 Nov 2014: Here are the before pics. Updated on 14 Nov 2014: Here's what it looks like 24hrs ...We did 1250 grafts with Art as robotic extraction. I'll know the final results in 6-months to a year I'm told.
IRecently, I have noticed some reseding of my hairline in the front of my head - I attribute the hairloss to wearing baseball caps for many years since no one in my family has suffered this problem. Styling my hair always seemed to involve covering up the large bare spots which I hated . . . So, at the recommendation of my plastic surgeon, I thought it would be worht a try to have a hair transplant. My doctor was kind, patient, and thoroughly educated me on the process. I have now had 2 hair transplant surgeries and it looks great. The first surgery gave me a good indication that I could do more work successfully and with the recent second surgery, I was able to fill in the bare triangles more and also fill in around the hairline under my bangs. OMG! The results are natural and fantastic . . . . I hate the 4 months it takes for the hair to start growing but it finally does - 100% of the transplants took so it is quite filled in . . . there was no pain either - I drove myself to and from the appointment (it did take all day). There is mild annoyance for three days waiting for the staples on the harvested area to come out. Other than that, I took one painpill for sleep the second night. Interesting fact, none of the transplanted hairs are growing in gray - they all have full color which shocked me. I just cannot wait to be able to style my hair anyway that I want and have it be thick and full in the front. :) It will be so great! I HIGHLY recommend this procedure to women who, may or may not, realize that it is helpful for them too.I will post pics in June when the new hairs start growing from the latest transplant done last week. Updated on 5 May 2011: Updated on 4 Aug 2013: I am now considering another round of transplanting . . . the original transplant did a great job and has lasted well for 6yrs - but, I see some scalp in the transplant areas so I am thinking another round is in order! I loved doing this for myself - it made a world of difference in how I felt about my appearance.
Do not go there Way too expensive 50% will grow if you got lucky Cost 10k for 1275 fue hair 50% only grow It took almost all day like 8 hours Very nice staff unfortunately not professional at all Do your research Noticed all the reviews like 8 years back
Just check my head picture Very horrible work And cost 10k I did this year ago and they said they put 1500 crafts I have to wear hat all the time because my hair is way worse than before thanks to Dr DeYarman The staff was brand new I felt they were practicing on my hair for the first time and oh they speak Spanish all the procedure time Not happy
I am not happy about my experience with the DeYarman Medical Group. I got 5400 grafts more than 3 years ago (FUT). I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied because 5400 grafts should create a significant cosmetic improvement and I didn't get that significant cosmetic improvement. See before/after picture.
You should try everything you can except hair transplant, If you have never tried finasteride, you should try at your young age with the idea of holding off until you are at least 30. You could also try a stem cell with PRP transplant.
It is recommended not to get a hair transplant under age 30. Another treatment you could try is a stem cell transplant.
Try and avoid a transplant until age 30. You can use Propecia, Rogaine, and stem cell with PRP injections. Take photos of yourself dry and in a wet condition.
If you have hair in the transplanted area, most likely will shed. It can take a long time for the hair to grow back but it can be discouraging. Hang in there and you will most likely if you don't have good re-growth by one year then you will probably need another transplant. You should consider stem transplant also.
Rogaine will work for everyone but for it to be effective it has to be massaged into the scalp. It is a scalp treatment not a hair treatment. After you massage the scalp wipe off the excess Rogaine from your hair with a dry towel. The hardest thing with Rogaine is using it twice a day for the rest of your life.
