After having 3 kids plus umbilical hernia surgery (6yrs ago) I have had issues with the “mommy pooch” and my “mommy marks”! Recently I’ve been researching tummy tucks/liposuction! I was almost sold with the idea until I went to a consultation for my hernia (just to make sure another one didn’t reappear). Pretty much my hernia repair is great and that I should try to lose weight and maybe consider lipo!! On May 21 I started working out with a trainer, which helped me tremendously but I still had the fat above my mesh! So I looked up information about liposuction and came across Smart Lipo which was exactly what I needed! Went in for my consultation, which was great and decided to go ahead with my lower/slight upper abdominal area. Which cost me 3,750.00! I was willing to invest in myself and make me happy regardless of what others thought!Updated on 28 Jun 2018:
I am extremely nervous, thankfully I was able to take an anxiety pill to help me relax before the procedure!! My husband is taking me (which is making me feel more at ease)! My appointment is at 9:30am!! Soon as we arrive they take me in the back to change into the cute blue underwear and gown. Then they weighed me -174lbs and took measurements Waist: 31.5 Hips 33.5 Upper Ab: 30. The Dr. then came into the room and we agreed on the areas as he marked on my belly! Then it was time for a photo shoot!! Once pictures were done we went straight to the procedure room! I was extremely nervous about the numbing shot, but the staff was able to distract me with conversation that I barely noticed the first shot! He gave me a total of 3 shots which did feel like a little bee sting! Then the fun part started, he insert the numbing liquid and it felt weird! It also had me cracking up b/c it tickled due to the vibration!! Once I was completely numb then he started to remove the fat!! I forgot to snap a picture of the fat jar! All in all from start to finish I was probably on the table for 35 minutes since I didn’t have a lot of fat to remove!

Last night was not that bad, besides sleeping on my recliner! I was able to shower today (24hrs after) which was great! I did get a little light headed while taking the tape and bandages off, which I did lay down for a minute until it passed. I couldn’t believe how well my stomach looked with the swelling, I was able to see my “pocketbook’ which put a huge smile on my face! After the shower I allowed the areas to air dry and dabbed them with Bacitracin cream that was included in my goody bag!! Then I placed band aids on each site and rewrapped myself with the binder. Not really hungry, need to increase my water intake!Updated on 28 Jun 2018:

Today I started back working out! Walked/jog this morning, I was a little nervous that I would be in a lot of pain but it wasn’t that bad!! Wore my ab board with my waist trainer which gave me a lot of support. Still a little concerned about the lump near my belly button but I know I have to continue to be patient to see the final results! I can’t wait until I don’t have to wear my compression garment, it’s a pain at night!!Updated on 25 Jul 2018:
Finally made it to 4 weeks, definitely see a difference! The swelling is going down, still have days when I’m more swollen than most. The doctor stated that I had to wear my compression garment between 4-6 weeks 24/7, I think I will continue to wear even though I made it too 4 weeks!! I also massage my abdomen every night for at least 15 minutes to prevent any lumps from forming!! Still a little tender in some spots but nothing unbearable. I’m also able to start doing abdominal targeted exercises which I am excited about. This past weekend I ran in the Color Run Marathon (5k) and was able to run the entire thing! Instead of wearing a compression garment I wore my waist trainer for support! I’m going to order a small because I’m in the last hooks of my current waist trainer. As far as saggy skin, I am experiencing a little. I am dry brushing and moisturizing with Shea butter, Aloe Vera gel, and vitamin E oil. Not sure if I will see a difference but I’m willing to try!!Updated on 23 Aug 2018:

Today I had my 8 week check up!! Everything looked great, I learned that they only removed 500cc from my abdomen! Still swelling here and there, but overall I’m pain free! Dealing with some loose skin, but I’m okay with that!! I can’t wait until my 6 month check up to see if there will be additional changes to my abdomen!! Looking at the pictures I definitely can see the difference!
