Will Canthopexy Help Eyes Made Too Small After Lower Eye Lift?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Canthopexy is used to support the lower eyelid and it is one way to treat horizontal laxity.  I doubt that it would provide benefit in your case, but not enough information is provided to make that determination.  A repeat visit with your operating surgeon is necessary and you should ask why this happened, what the various alternatives are that will improve your condition, etc.  If you are confused or disagree then you should see another surgeon for a second opinion.  Do not make a decision based on advice given over the internet.  You must be personally examined.

Can I Have Liposuction and Tummy Tuck While on Coumadin?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I would recommend that you be evaluated by your own personal physician regarding the idea of undergoing elective aesthetic surgery. If it is felt that the surgery would be a significant risk, then I would "get that thought out of your head." You would need to be off anticoagulants until they have absolutely no effect and that time would be decided by your physician and your plastic surgeon. You could commence taking them again during the post-op period after the risk of post-op bleeding has diminished.

Remember: Discretion is the better part of valor.

Realistic Expectation on Rhinoplasty for Patients with Thick Skin?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Think of reconstructive or aesthetic rhinoplasty as a modification of the underlying structures such as the substructure of poles that hold up a circus tent. The skin is analogous to the canvas covering of the tent. Thin skin readjusts itself quicker and it shows the underlying structure of the nose more than thick skin, which takes longer to shrink and readjust. The surgeon will take that into consideration in determining what approach to use and how to modify the underlying structure by subtracting or adding cartilage, bone, etc., or rearranging it.

I suggest you wait until you are in your later teens or early twenties to undergo surgery, as noses in males continue to grow and change until that time. Of course, if you have structural deformities that impede your breathing , corrective surgery should be entertained earlier.

How Much Cc is Needed to Achieve Full C Breasts?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You have what appears to be a large chest, so adding a significant volume to your breasts would be easy, but as you are concerned with looking too big, or fat, it is necessary to try on a larger bra, put a sizer in it and then put your clothes over that to see how you look. This is an easy thing to do and your plastic surgeon should be able to asist you in making a decision.

Best Place and Doctor Outside US for Tummy Tuck and Butt Lift?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Although there are excellent board certified plastic surgeons in countries other than the USA and Canada, you should be aware that the old adage in life, 'you get what you pay for," holds true in medicine and surgery.

I often see patients whose desires were similar to yours, mainly to save money, who ended up with less than satisfactory results, complications, etc. They become depressed, mad at themselves for considering price only as their main objective, and then find that it costs much more to try to correct the problems which have arisen. So there is time lost, more money expended, grief, aggravation, frustration, etc. and the surgeon who cared for the patient originally is not around the corner, is many miles away, and often unreachable.

If you do go overseas make sure that the surgeon is board certified in plastic surgery, that the surgical facility is appropriately accredited, that you speak with previous patients who were treated by the doctor there, and in essence that you do your due diligence. My advice: Look before you leap!

Congratulations on your weight loss. Withoout question you have increased your life span and improved the quality of your life tremendously. It would be wonderful to undergo a more minor procedure, but to achieve the reults you hope for I recommend that you consider surgery to remove the excess skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue in conjunction with liposuction. Alarplasty for High and Flared Nostrils?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Alarplasty is only one part of nasal reconstruction. It ususally is performed at the end of the surgery. Think of the procedure similar to listening to a symphony. The last part only makes sense after the first parts have been heard. The size, shape and contour of the alae should relate to the rest of the nose and modification of the alae depends on the structural integrity of the dorsum, septum, upper lateral and lower lateral cartilages. Consultation with a board certified surgeon with a great deal of experience performing rhinoplasties should prorvide you with sufficient information to make an informed decision as to what you can expect and how you wish to proceed.

Tummy Tuck Safe for Someone Weighing 190 Lbs?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You did not say how tall you were nor did you divulge your age. If you are overweight you should try to lose the weight before surgery. Being pleased with the results of an abdominoplasty and then losing a significant amount of weight contributes to loss of the initial good correction as the skin and subcutaneous tissues become more lax (less tight) and the contour improvement might not remain. So it just makes sense to lose the weight prior to surgery. Scheduling a procedure in the future makes good sense, as the date signifies a deadline and an extra impetus to lose weight.

Abdominoplasty performed by a Board Certified plastic surgeon in an accredited fsurgical facility under general anesthesia administered by a Board Certified anesthesiologist takes away many risks, and it is imperative that the patient due his or her due diligence to make sure that the above suggestions are followed.

When is Blepharoplasty Medically Necessary?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Actual ptosis of the upper eyelids is a medical condition that is correctible by surgery. Occasionally, excess skin of the lids combined with drooping of the eyebrows requires correction of both problems to improve upper visual field deficits.

Of course, there will be improvement in appearance as a result of the surgical correction, but the main reason for operating is to improve vision in the upper fields. Therefore, it is my opinion that the procedures should be considered reconstructive rather than purely cosmetic.

Dr. Friedland Fixed my Fat Atrophy from Another Drs Mistake - Scottsdale, AZ

I received a shot of Kenalog from a nurse at an urgent care in Phoenix NOT DR.FRIEDLANDS office. Unfortunately, the shot did not go deep enough, as a side effect my fat on my left side of my buttocks started to sink in (fat atrophy). Dr. Friedland was able to fix it in less than 30 min! He's amazingUpdated on 27 Nov 2012:The procedure was painless and quick! I was able to drive myself there and drive home. I had an indentation on my left buttock the size of a quarter from a Kenalog shot that a PREVIOUS dr had given me. Dr. Friedland was able to take some fat from my inner thigh (I'm very thin to begin with) and transfer it to where my fat atrophy was. After the swelling was over with, you can't even tell that there was ever an indentation. As far as where Jack took my fat from...there are no signs that he had ever touched it! Dr. Friedland did warn me that it may possibly take two treatments, depending on how my body takes in the fat cells. Luckily, I just needed one procedure....The fat took just fine! Thank you Dr. Friedland!

Best Breast Augmentation! - Scottsdale, AZ

Dr. Friedland is by far the best surgeon when it comes to augmentations. My saline implants looked so natural. They weren't too big or too small. I first had my augmentation back in 2004 and then had Jack replace my saline with silicone in 2011.

To correct a very minor bump on the side of my nose. This pyhsician performed rhinoplasty to correct a small bump on my nose. He completely changed the look of my nose - it was noticeable to everyone. I orginally had a slightly upturned nose. When he was done, it looked like a hook or parrot nose. Also, after a year, it actually collapsed and was sunken in on one side. I had to travel far to see a specialist in rhinoplasty redo's in order to try to correct the mess he made of my nose. Total cost to correct: $20,000.
