This is a great question my patients often ask at the first consultation.
The best way to avoid side effects is to go to a qualified medical practitioner with specialist training in aesthetic medicine including botox injections. During your consultation you will be asked to complete a medical assessment. That assessment will help the doctor determine if you are suitable for the treatment. You can reduce your risks before the treatment by avoiding blood thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen and also fish oils, evening primrose oil and high dose garlic. Get to your appointment in plenty of time so you are calm and ready for treatment.
After treatment your expert injector will discuss ways of reducing the risks of adverse effects including: avoiding alcohol and exercise for 24hrs. As well as avoiding manipulating or massaging the area.
In expert hands the risks of a droop and very rare particularly when the pre-and post treatment advice are followed.

You will usually start to see minor changes in the skin 3-4 days after getting botox and the optimum result is at 2 weeks. This is usually the time I ask my patients to come back for a review. This review is very important especially if it is your first treatment as it helps us work out the optimum dose to get your best and longest lasting result. After this is it advisable to have botox every 3-4 months for the first 2 years after which in many patients you can increase the time between treatments to 5-6 months and still maintain a great result.
Botox has a excellent safety record and has been used in cosmetic medicine in the UK for over 10 years with no long term adverse effects.

In the first instance I would contact the clinic who originally placed the filler to find out exactly what type of filler was placed. If it was a permanent filler then contact a surgeon to give you more detailed advice on how to surgically remove the filler. If it is a reversible filler there may be other explanations for swelling and changes in the area. Find an experienced injector who can manage complications to do a detailed history and examination and they will be able to guide you through this.

There are a number of options to improve fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. Botox is great to reduce dynamic lines caused by smiling, frowning or raising the eyebrows and this can be done in a natural way to maintain expression but still boost the skin.
Dermal fillers can also be used to correct volume loss in both these areas as well as maintaining balance in the mid and lower face. There are other options such as PRP and micro-needling which can tighten the skin. Ensure you go to a doctor with expert knowledge on Botox, fillers and skin care.

I'm sorry to hear you are having such dramatic hair loss. My first advice would be to see a doctor with experience managing hair loss. They will be able to do a full assessment and evaluation to get to the bottom of the underlying cause of your hair fall. Once that has been determined they will be able to start a treatment plan to reduce hair fall and start to improve hair retention and growth. PRP (Platelet rich plasma) treatment is one of many treatment outside oral and topical medication which have been shown to reduce hair fall and improve hair growth but the underlying cause of hair loss must first be determined.
Multiple sessions are needed usually 6 sessions but you may see some improvement in earlier sessions. It can be used before, during or after hair transplantation.

Laser hair removal for the underarms in London costs between £60-£80 per session. It is important to go to a licensed clinic and ensure the doctor or practitioner performing the procedure is appropriately trained. You will usually need a course of treatments with a minimum of 6 sessions, with 6 weeks between each session. I hope you have a great result.

After Lip augmentation, with a soft hyaluronic acid (HA) product, it is normal for the lip to swell about 10% greater than the final result at the end of treatment it would also be expected it may swell a further 10-15% either the night of treatment or the morning after treatment. Some patients have no swelling at all so this is very patient specific.
If HA products are used, your doctor will usually massage the lips at the end of treatment and then advise no further massage. Icing is not usually necessary but when done, cover the ice with a towel and do for 10min intervals at a maximum; excessive ice can actually increase swelling.
You should be able to go back to work the next day as there is minimal downtime. If you are worried about swelling a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning appointment may suit you best.
It is important to talk through these concerns with the doctor performing your procedure and you can usually plan the treatment at a day/ time that would cause the least disruption to your social and working life.
Remember pre-treatment can be just as important as post treatment. If you have ever had a cold sore talk to your doctor about prophylactic treatment. Go to a local aesthetic doctor with at least graduate level training in aesthetic medicine/ aesthetic surgery.
