Utilizing digital technology in both orthodontics and implant planning a specialist should be able to simulate the planned tooth movements to see if removing the implants is absolutely necessary. As a prosthodontist we work closely with other specialist like orthodontist to pre plan treatment using digital technology.
Unfortunately fracture of the temporary or interim prosthetic is a known and realistic complication. It is more common when the patient has a history of bruxism, clenching, grinding. We ask patient to remain on a very soft diet during the healing phase which helps protect them from fracturing the temporary. The second concern of an overbite seems to be one of skeletal concern. If there is a true underlying skeletal cause of an overbite or underbite this can not easily be fixed with prosthetics alone, in some cases jaw surgery is warranted. You may be able to slightly improve and underbite or overbite with prosthetics if minor or only dental in nature
In cases like yours we would utilize digital planning to see if the implants would interfere with the chin implant. A chin implant is typically not an issue. If bone grafting was needed in proximity to the chin implant would be the exception. This is one reason we utilize dual boarded Maxillofacial surgeons so they can address both issues should they arise.
Given this is only a 2 dimensional radiograph a clinical assessment and a 3 dimensional cbct would be helpful in further diagnosis. I would recommended these be completed by either a skilled periodontist or a skilled Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon that can provide you with all of the surgical options you have available.
Completing your orthodontics and waiting after they’re complete to have an implant placed is perfectly fine AS LONG AS you are diligent in wearing your retainer to avoid relapse of the orthodontic treatment. I hope this helps with your decisions
