If you felt no deep heating cycles then it is possible that the settings were not increased appropriately after the warm up phase. Call and have the clinician review your chart. If you were increased to 1.4 and had no deep warming than you must have an amazing pain tolerance and the treatment should work. I also find that the more paddles I place together the better the result. In other words instead of placing 2 on each thigh, try 4 from the inner thigh towards the posterior thigh of each leg. As there is feathering beyond each paddle there may be synergy with 4 grouped together, although no study has been done comparing the 2 options. The FDA has approved the use of Sculpsure on the thighs, to counter the statement earlier.
Sculpsure and Coolsculpting are the only two non invasive devices that are FDA approved for permanent fat reduction. Radiofrequency energy is temporary and must be repeated at more frequent intervals. Both Sculpsure and Coolsculpting can destroy up to 24% of adipose in the treated area in one sitting.
1.4 is the highest setting and there is some data to show that 1.3-1.4 gives the best results, however, my patients that can only tolerate lower settings still report loss of fat in the treated area. The area may be retreated as soon as 4 weeks as long as no nodules are present but it still takes 12 weeks to see full results.
I have found that Sculpsure can be an intense motivator for patients who are newly embarking on their weightloss journey. Although Sculpsure does not result in true weight loss, the loss in volume results in better fitting clothing and thus motivates my obese patients to permanently change their eating and exercise patterns. The before and after pictures of obese patients on the Cynosure website also show the subtle skin tightening effects of Sculpsure. If you are committed to the lifestyle changes needed to reduce your BMI, Sculpsure may be all the incentive you need!
Sculpsure is perfect for patients like you that work out but have a stubborn collection of fat that just wont budge. Keep in mind that a single treatment will destroy up to 24% of fat in the area and a surrounding few centimeters outside of the treatment area, so some patients require a second treatment for optimal results. Your free consult will help determine if diastasis is your primary contributor or if it is true adipose. There should be no indentations after Sculpsure as has been reported with Coolsculpting.
