I had gone through three consults with male doctors who told me I had deformed breasts. Dr. Faulkner disagreed and used an approach I had never heard of before (subfascial) to give me what is the most natural result. I’m so happy. The pain was minimal and I got exactly what I wanted without excess scarring. She is also very kind, thorough, and attentive. Highly recommend and she is a great addition to the Emory plastics team!!
She did not express to me as a consumer and payer of insurance premiums that she will only operate if you have a BMI of 35 or less. If your back pain is due to large breasts and you have a BMI over 35 do not select MGH Dr. Faulkner she either does not carry sufficient malpractice or simply discriminates based on weight and body mass index BMI.
Swelling after breast reduction surgery takes time to resolve. By 3 months, most swelling has improved. When there is loss of sensation in the immediate postoperative time period, it may be due to postoperative swelling. In your situation, only time will tell if the sensation will return. You may notice some twinges of pain at times, and this can indicate return of sensation. Permanent loss of nipple or breast sensation, while rare, is a risk with breast reduction surgery.
