The strength of the Opus Plasma device is its versatility. Depending on the settings we choose, we can provide a light laser peel, a moderate ablative treatment or we can use higher settings to get results similar to fractionated CO2 but with less downtime.
There are two separate settings that we choose when treating a patient with Opus Plasma. The plasma intensity can be set between 25% and 70%. The plasma intensity is analogous to a spot size for a laser. The higher the percentage, the more ablation on each pass. The energy can be set at low levels (less than 20 Watts) or at higher levels, as high as 100 Watts. The other factor determining the intensity of the treatment is the number of passes over a given area, typically between 2 and 4.
