You should be just fine, until your visit. The visit should be in 1-2 weeks.  Be sure the orthodontist or the technician knows it is in there and removes it at the appointment.  It will still function as long as it is in between the teeth.

While it would be great to diagnosis you with some iPhone pictures, that is just not rational.  Make an appointment at your area Orthodontist (PLEASE go to an Orthodontist Specialist-it's what we do!).  They will perform a complete exam and advise you what options are available to you!  They type of braces you get will depend on the orthodontist you see.  Clear or metal braces will not make a differance, but the tyupe of bracket system used can make a difference.

Depending on the size of the restorations, the location of the restorations and the number of restorations done you may need new impressions or a a new digital scan to have some new aligners made.  It is possible to adust the exsisting aligners if jsut minor restorations were done.

I usually provide retainers within 7 days of finishing treatment. In 27 years I have almost no issues in handling treatment this way.  You will need new retainers after any restorative work is done, the fit of the retainers is very important for the teeth to stay in place! 
1 Week is plenty of time to have new retainers made and delivered to you.
