I was unhappy with the crooked and discolored teeth I had. Updated on 17 Feb 2012: The process was relatively easy. I had to wear temporary veneers for about 10 days. They were a bit sensitive to ht and cold at times, but nothing too bad. I had to be careful not to bite into anything too hard or sticky during this time too. Dr. Palani's office would call and check in periodically to make sure I was doing well. Overall it was all quite painless and worth it. I would do it all over again in a heart beat!
Better quality of life. Enjoyment of food. Improved confidence and self- esteem. I lost all my teeth at an early age due to neglect and disease and I have been wearing dentures ever since. My dentures never fit right, were loose and sometimes cause me a lot of pain. Eating, speaking and smiling, basic things most people take for granted were a daily challenge for me. That was until I met Dr. Palani. Dr. Palani placed 6 implant in my upper jaw and 4 implants in my lower jaw He used these implants to retain and secure a new set of dentures he made. My dentures no longer move when i eat or speak and they no longer cause me any pain, physical or emotional.
I wanted stable and secure dentures. Now my teeth are secured by implants. I can now freely speak, laugh, and chew my foods properly!!
Just to be clear, when was the implant placed and how long after placement did you develop the tingling sensation?
sounds like the snap in dentures are not fitting properly. If you were my patient I would check your bite on the right and left side and make sure the contacts are balanced on both sides. I would also check and possibly feline the underiside of the denture so that the there aren’t any spots that are rubbing to heavy on the gums.
Mostv of my patients have zero to minimal downtime/ post operative discomfort. If you are replacing Numerous teeth vs a single tooth you will have mild to moderate soreness and swelling. Soreness which is well handled with Tylenol or Motrin.
sometimes infections can occur around Implants new and older. First and foremost the cause of the infection needs to be identified and addressed. Sometimes lifting the gum around the implant will give the doctor a direct view of what is going on and it may be easier and more predictable to treat. The experience of your provider is also of paramount importance.
Although most patients report little to no pain/ swelling after dental implant placement; Mild Pain and mild swelling can be normal after dental implant treatment. Icing the area 20-30 minutes 4-5x/day and using a NSAID such as Motrin/ Ibuprofen as directed can really help a lot with pain and swelling. Wish you a speedy recovery. Dr. Palani
