As a teenager I struggled with acne, all intestinal issues - leeky gut kind of thing that would cause flare ups on my cheeks. Now that my acne has gone away I'm so insecure to leave the house without foundation. I'm not talking light foundation or a CC cream; I'm talking Este Lauder Double Wear or Kat Von D Lock it Foundation. Not only was that clogging my pores, but it would be so time consuming! It was time for me to find a way to fix my skin! I started at Dr. K's Med Spa in Largo doing Botox, and through coming there I found out about Fraxel. I of course had so many questions! Questions like "does it hurt" "does it really work" so on so fourth. Dr. K's staff made sure that all my questions were answered, they educated me on how the procedure would work, how much down time I would have, what products to put on it and so fourth. Still nervous, I did my own research, and finally I did it! I made an appointment that would hopefully change my life.
Days before my nerves were racing, I'm a wimp with pain! Not to mention I ran into a lady who scared me even more saying that it's excruciating pain (she had just got it done). I almost backed out, but then I ran into another lady who told me that it's not pleasant but you have to think of the results! Needless to say I kept the appointment.
Day of appointment: My appointment was two hours long, and I was with the laser tech and her name was Cassie. She made my time go so much faster and easier, she calmed my nerves by half! First thing was numbing. She put "BLT cream" on my face and I sat for about 35-45 minutes. My face was pretty numb! Now time for the laser, eeeek so nervous. She gave me a small smiley face ball that I could squeeze when it hurt, which was nice - because I sure did use it. It was NOT as bad as I expected! If anyone has had laser hair removal, it feels like that. Of course it would have hurt more if I had not did any kind of numbing. It was so bareable! And remember, beauty is pain! She did about 6 passes on me.
Right after the treatment she put some TNS cerimide from skin medica, Epidermal repair from Skin Ceuticals, and sunscreen from skin ceuticals on me. I was advised that it would feel like a really bad sunburn. She said to keep it moisturized and if I began to feel "tight" to apply more product. So I purchased all three products and they feel really good on my face. I used ice packs to ease the stinging sensation. The sensation lasted me maybe two hours after the treatment, after that I was just a little pink.
The morning after my face is puffy, which is expected, but no pain, no peeling, no tightness! I never wear makeup to work, but I had to go to work bare faced and I received compliments on my face already! Which is exciting. I plan to do 3 more Fraxel treatments. Then I will move onto IPL and Microneedling. I will keep updating with pictures and progress! I do apologize for the pictures not being upright.
