Dr Landis is such an amazing plastic surgeon. Along with all his staff! Starting with the first visit, to the day of my surgery and even after my surgery he has been so amazing and explained every step and answered everyone of my questions. His work made me a different person! I’m living a life that Im so proud of because of him and his staff. The confidence he gave me is unexplainable! I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone! He’s such a wonderful person and he has such a wonderful staff. If I could give him 100 stars I would with no doubt.
Dr. Landis was very informative with the information given. I have suffered with migraines since I was 3 years old. He was able to give me a solution since and since I did have good results of reduced migraines with Botox he thought this would help reduce them even more with full knowledge that they would not completely go away. Since Nov 2017 I had 3 procedures to help reduce the migraines. The first one was an Bilateral Occipital nerve decompression, after this one I was migraine free for 24 days ( prior to having surgery I was having almost 1-2 per day). This was the longest I had been migraine free in decades. I had my second surgery pretty quickly after at he end Dec 2017 Bilateral Temporal nerve decompression, to which I went migraine free almost 3 months. I went into this surgery knowing that I would still have headaches and migraines however I was not anticipating the relief that I got. My last surgery was in Nov 2019 Bilateral Occipital LESSER nerve decompression. This is something I wish I would have learned about many years ago. I can't not thank Dr. Landis enough for the wonderful care he has given me over the years.
Dr. LANDIS is a superb physician and surgeon. My most recent surgery was bilateral Breast Augmentation and I am thrilled with my results!! I have been plagued by migraine headaches since I was 13 and Dr Landis also did migraine decompression surgery on me. It has helped me immensely. Dr. LANDIS is a very attentive and empathic physician and I am eternally grateful for his support and expertise with both my cosmetic and functional needs.
I was very happy with the 3 different surgery I had with Dr Landis. From the 1st consultation to the last he was compassionate, caring and very informative. He has an amazing bedside manner and is an amazing surgeon as well. I have suffered with migraines for 30 plus years with no treatment really known. This was brought to my attention and he was very confident that he could reduce my migraines somewhat. After the first surgery (occipital) which is the primary source of my migraines, I was migraine/headache free for almost 15 days. I was having about 20-25 per month with a headache daily. This was the first time that I was able to think clearly without pain for a headache or migraine. After about 30 days I decided to proceed with the temporal nerve decompression. I am now almost 2.5 years out from both of those surgeries and I am averaging about 1-2 migraines per month. I recently had a third one to help with the residual migraines I was having from the occipital area which has even shown more of a reduction in just my headaches alone. There is no question that I would come back and see Dr Landis for further surgery in the future.
Dr. Landis is a fabulous provider. he always spend more time with me than I would expect him to spend with me. He is very informative and thoughtful. Over the years I have seen Dr. Landis on several occaisions. I like that if I ask him his opinion he is very thoughtful and respectful in his comments. He has offered suggestions to take years off of my appearance that I never would have know were available, the tiny non surgical tweaks that can make a really big difference. He has 100% of my confidence in his skills and is always very pleasant.
Dr. George Landis transformed my appearance, and at the age of 48, I feel like a new person. I hope people read the comments I am sharing below and think, “This is not an ordinary review,” because these are not ordinary circumstances, and Dr. Landis is certainly not an ordinary plastic surgeon. As a result of lifelong obesity, I experienced a grave health crisis that nearly ended my life. Gratefully, I fully recovered and emerged 120 pounds lighter, having lost a dramatic amount of muscle and fat all over my body and face. Though healthier than ever, afterward I was drowning under a significant amount of skin hanging on my stomach, buttocks, breasts and thighs. My face appeared skeletal and harsh with sunken cheeks and hollow eyes. For long-term health reasons, the excess body skin needed to be removed, and I also wanted to embrace my new life comfortably and confidently with an outward appearance that truly matched how I felt. My doctor at the University of Minnesota, under whose care my life was saved, personally referred me to Dr. Landis for help. Dr. Landis performed a head-to-toe body makeover on me, including an abdominoplasty, a medial thigh lift, a buttock lift, breast reconstruction, facial fat grafting and scar revision. His skills as a surgeon, artistry and attention to detail are evident in every procedure he performed. Most visible to the world is my face, which he amazingly restored to a much more youthful appearance. He divided all the procedures into two separate surgeries, separated by 3 weeks, to allow for recovery time. The first surgery included all the facial work, abdominoplasty and breast reconstruction. All the procedures went exactly as he indicated they would and I recovered faster than expected. He erased the hanging flesh on my tummy and created a nice new belly button. I ended up with a taught stomach and an hourglass shape that I never envisioned would be possible on this body. My formerly large and sagging breasts were reconstructed without implants. I love their new smaller size, well proportioned for my slimmer frame. The facial work involved a procedure called fat grafting. My own fat from my body was added to fill in areas of my face that were giving me a gaunt appearance. As a guide for the restoration process, he used pictures taken when I was in my late 20’s. Beyond my expectations he achieved perfectly natural results and restored fullness to my upper eyelids, temples, cheeks and jowl areas. He significantly improved two majorly visible facial scars. Barely noticeable now, they look like little wrinkles. The results are so natural no one has noticed I had any work done on my face, except to comment on how healthy I look. The second surgery included the medial thigh and buttock lifts. It was a bit more involved than the first surgery, but I had an easy recovery. Dr. Landis fitted me with a firmly supportive compression garment that mitigated a lot of the pain as I compliantly rested and recovered. The results of the lower body surgery are truly life transforming. I lost four pants sizes overnight and no longer need any compression garments to hold my lower body together every time I wear pants. The scars from both surgeries now look like garment seams and fade a little bit each week. In my mind, they are insignificant compared to the amazing freedom of movement I gained after the surgeries. Throughout it all, my pain was effectively managed with prescription medication and was relatively minor as a result. Dr. Landis saw me for twelve weeks of follow-up appointments until he was certain I was completely healed. The incredibly personal and compassionate care he and his nurse Karen provided was simply unparalleled in my experience. They thought of everything I needed and cared for me like I was their only patient. Dr. Landis was sensitive to the costs involved and that made it possible for me to complete the transformation I envisioned. If you are planning to have any facial or body work done, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Landis. You will be glad you did. I am sure glad I did. He transformed my life.
Dr. Landis should not do rhinoplasties! He clearly has no idea what he’s doing. Approximately four years ago (when I was just 21 years old) I went to see him because I wanted the large bump on my nose removed. I also wanted to find out if I had a deviated septum that he could fix since I’ve always had problems breathing. Dr. Landis told me I definitely DID NOT have a deviated septum. I was surprised but decided to go ahead and have him remove the bump. He knew I was NOT looking for any changes to the tip of my nose… but he totally messed up my tip! After my rhinoplasty surgery, my nostrils were very uneven and the tip of my nose sagged on one side. It also became very red (which never went away). I was so incredibly disappointed and embarrassed with the nose I now had. My nose actually looked better before the rhinoplasty! Five weeks ago, I had my “botched” nose fixed by a different surgeon/ENT. The surgeon told me that I had a HUGE deviated septum. He also mentioned that I had a punctured hole in my septum, most likely caused by my previous surgery. He luckily was able to fix both. The tip of my nose now looks beautiful and the surgeon told me that the redness should improve since he “cleaned it up” after my previous surgery. I can finally look in the mirror again and be happy with the way my nose looks! It just sucks that I had to go through two surgeries to get the nose I wanted. Please don’t waste your money with Dr. Landis, as I did!
I saw Dr. Landis when one of my saline implants, from a previous Dr., deflated after 10 years. My former surgeon retired. I chose the CC size of my implant and the “gummy bears”. Shortly after I called his office, he called me back right away, I told him I wasn’t happy with the results. I went up around 100 CC’s yet I can’t fill out my bras from previously. It looks like I have two hamburger buns. Very large width and very little projection.Well shortly after I received information on which implant I had. I had NO idea that the implants come in different styles. He picked the WRONG style for my body! He told me he would do the surgery for me free of charge for his fee. I needed to pay the hospital and for new implants. Well after $7000 ish and missing work for two weeks that wasn’t going to be able to happen anytime soon. And do I trust a Dr. who picked made me look like this?Well I decided to go back for a consultation and he told me it was too late for me to have him fix it for free on his side. I told him he never gave me a timeline to come back and that he knew from the beginning I didn’t like them. He records all conversations so that would be easy for him to recall if he needed to. Why should I pay for anything when they look so bad! Do your research by looking at before and afters and at reviews!
I had my surgery over 2 years ago now & it’s time I accept the results. I waited to write my review for two reason... 1. Hoping it needed time to heal fully & 2. Because I didn’t want to relieve/remind myself how I feel about it. It saddens me to say my results were my worst nightmare. I went in because of a referral and I trusted it. My septo-rhinoplasty surgery was done with Dr. Landis at Landis Plastic Surgery. My initial consult was great, He was very kind, soft spoken with wonderful bedside manners (as a nurse, that made me feel very comfortable) and seemed like He knew what he was talking about when it came to anatomy. I was VERY nervous about the surgery just like anyone else. During both my first and second consult I couldn’t stress enough how I wanted my results very subtle and very natural. My main concern was septoplasty. Due to the trauma when the deviated septum occurred, I formed a slight bump on the bridge of my nose. I asked to simply shave off the bump during the surgery and even expressed that I didn’t want too much shaved off because it would form a dip which would be very unnatural to my face. Dr. Landis told me septo-rhinoplasty are often done together and that would be possible. But He really emphasized that I needed my nose broken completely and brought together, as well as have my tip redone. I continued to explain my fears, that it would change the appearance of my face which I was terrified of. I did not want anything more done than what was medically necessary and to shave the bump. Dr. Landis explained that if I don’t completely redo my nose, shaving off the slight bump will make it look “stubby.” He kept emphasizing the need to change everything or else my proportions would be off and it would look bad. This also meant that the suggested rhinoplasty would not be covered by my insurance and would be an additional charge for a full rhinoplasty. I was having a hard time with this but I trusted his professional option. I moved forward with Dr. Landis’s recommendation because I was so scared of results looking unnatural to my face. Immediately after surgery, although partially covered with bandages, my nose was looking asymmetrical and wide. I continued to reassure myself that this was just swelling, as noses take a long time to heal. When the bruising went down & bandages came off...it was a nightmare. At the follow up appt with Dr. Landis, He was very quiet like he knew He botched it. He stated there was noticeable asymmetry in the nostrils and nothing could be done about that but he was pleased the little bump was gone. I waited and waited now 2 years for swelling to go down, hoping it would just get better. Unfortunately I am left botched. How does my nose now look worse than it ever did before the surgery??? I NEVER wanted him to touch my tip or break my nose. It now looks wide and the tip looks so un-proportional to the nostrils. I am in tears writing this. I’ve avoided this review because it meant reliving this nightmare. It’s been two years and I don’t recognize myself in the mirror. I loved my tip & my nose, I simply asked to shave the bump. Now, it’s uneven and although he supposedly made it smaller, due to improper proportions, it looks so much larger on my face. Why would someone up-sell a patient on something they didn’t need?? The thought of me never looking like myself breaks my heart. Just because a doctor has good bedside manners and performs procedures SAFELY DOES NOT MEAN they have an eye for aesthetics. This is all so hard to believe & nothing speaks louder than pictures. Attached is a before of my nose and after. I would do anything to take this all back & not have this surgery with this doctor. If you have a nose emergency, I’m sure He would do a great job saving your nose but if you want it to look good, this is the wrong doctor!
Dr. Land is performed surgery to rectify my double chin several years ago. It left me looking like I was deformed. I can only assume he took off too much fat in the center, but his answer to the problem was to wait 3 years for it to loosen. It never did. My neck is too tight in the middle and the skin on either side is loose. I look ridiculous.
I am concerned that an augmentation without a lift might may end up with a very unsatisfactory result for you. I think you will do much better with breast augmentation/lifting surgery. As you may know, one of the downsides associated with breast lifting surgery is the necessity of additional incisions/scars. For some patients the necessity of additional scars is unacceptable and for these patients it is better to avoid breast surgery altogether. On the other hand, many patients accept the scars associated with breast augmentation/breast lifting surgery as long as they are happy with the improvement in contour, size, and symmetry. This acceptance of the scars is the essential compromise associated with many of the procedures we do in the field of plastic surgery. In regards to achieving your breast size goals it will be important for you to have thorough communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful.. It sounds like you may benefit from additional consultations with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons who can demonstrate significant experience helping patients in your situation. Best regards,
Implant size selection b can be quite tricky. First of all, a common measure of breast size is bra cup size. This is problematic because cup size varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and from style to style and is not entirely reliable for precise measurement and prediction of breast size. I am also an advocate of dimensional planning. This is a process where measurements of the chest wall as well as the breast height and width as well as your own tissue characteristics are all taken into account to determine what implant size will be best suited for your particular tissue characteristics. In my office, I also use a breast implant gel sizing system. This way you can visualize the possible outcomes to get the size and shape that you always wanted Best wishes, Dr. Landis Minneapolis, MN
IT is very difficult to assessor situation based on the photograph that you provided. However, it is often very helpful to get a second opinion by a board-certified plastic surgeon. Your preoperative photographs, and the operative note will be very helpful.
There is a little delayed healing due to impaired circulation to the nipple area. Although I can't say for sure based on your pictures, I think that there is cause for optimism that you will go on to heal. It is very important to be followed closely by your plastic surgeon can to keep him or her update about any changes. Also, it is critically important that you do not smoke. If you have the smoking, quit immediately. Best wishes.
This does look like what is commonly seen with a "stitch abscess." Sometimes he will continue until this dissolving suture in the wound is removed. Often times in the clinic we'll carefully look within the open area to remove any visible sutures. It may be helpful to check back in with your plastic surgeon to see if there is any suture material that can be readily removed. Sometimes the wound just needs to heal on its own and will do so over time.
