As you probably know botox or one of the equivalents can be used to treat these lines however I think looking for an alternative is definitely valid. I treat a lot of men and there are significant differences in how we treat compared to women in terms of the cosmetic result we are looking for and the anatomy. In Western society the heavy male brow is a sign of masculinity, the high arched brow femininity, however men often have a heavy brow so adding botox can make this too heavy. Furthermore, due to bulkier muscle forehead lines can be deeper. I have found the best alternative is to use one of the newer hyaluronic acids like volbella or teoxane RHA 1. The technique is a little different to a standard filler treatment, lots of small microdroplets are placed superficially in to the line/ crease. Two treatments 4 weeks apart are normally required, although this may not remove the line 100% there is a significant reduction, without loss of movement and results last for much longer. This treatment is particularly good for deep, scarred lines that don't disappear with botox anyhow. Good luck! Dr Geoff Mullan
