I recently had a breast reduction/lift and tummy tuck done with Dr. Kind and him and his entire staff were AMAZING throughout the whole process. He came strongly recommended from my friend’s surgeon who had just retired. Dr. Kind listened intently, asked a lot of questions, and provided great suggestions (some of which I hadn’t even thought about) without being pushy (but I did go with his expert opinion and I’m very happy I did!). He was so approachable and confident/knowledgeable with decades of experience…exactly what I was looking for in a surgeon. Side note: I enjoyed his sense of humor too During the day of the surgery, I was so anxious about not waking up from anesthesia (I do suffer from generalized anxiety at times) and he and all the nurses were so patient and comforting and I felt I was in the best hands! Dr. Kind was also very responsive to my and my partner’s questions and needs in the days and weeks after the surgery (the tummy tuck was more painful than I expected…but totally worth it!!!). I also can’t say enough good things about Candice, his nurse. Every time I interacted with her, Candice was so upbeat, helpful, patient and caring…I looked forward to every follow up visit with her. I asked her the same hundred questions several times and she never even got slightly annoyed ! She was her bright, upbeat, and helpful self every single time! And I couldn’t be happier with the results. Since I was a teenager, I have never felt good with my body and after motherhood it was even worse. After this surgery, not only do I feel like I fit in my own skin for the first time ever, but I absolutely love my improved body. My boobs look amazing (even better than in my teenage years), stretch marks are almost completely gone (I had the worst stretch marks you can think of), baby pouch evaporated, and my tummy has never been this flat. Thank you Dr. Kind and the entire team for giving me this new love for my body that I will cherish forever! If you are reading this and are having doubts about the surgery or which surgeon to go with, I would strongly recommend you get Dr. Kind! You won’t regret it!
I saw Dr. Gabriel Kind, a kind and professional Plastic Surgeon in San Francisco! He has years of experience in breast augmentation, reconstruction and also suggested using breast fat transfer from my stomach to fix errors from surgery of a different doctor in 2020. I'm 65 years of age and 6 weeks past the surgery now. The implants haven't dropped completely yet but I'm so happy, it was well worth it and the breast fat transfer and implants are looking great. So happy! Go see him, his surgery skills, knowledge, attention to detail and caring for his patients is heaven sent. Too, his Physician Assistant was equally wonderful.
Dr. Kind was and is amazing. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made the whole experience easy. I have autoimmune issues and always appreciate it when a doctor explains to me exactly what they are doing and what will happen or is happening with my body. Dr. Kind took the time to draw out on pen and paper exactly what would happen during the procedure and took the time to teach me a little bit about why he was making certain recommendations for the procedure. I took the time to meet with multiple surgeons and immediately after meeting with Dr. Kind, knew he was the right choice for me. Because of him and Candice, I felt comfortable throughout the whole process as I knew my questions would be answered and I would have support 100% of the way. I'm writing this review because even a year and a half after my surgery, Dr. Kind has been very responsive and helpful as I recently have had some questions about some swelling near my breast. He immediately invited me to come into the office to discuss further and I appreciate him and the wonderful team at his office so so much! Thank you Dr. Kind!!
I had a very positive experience with facial plastic surgery by Dr. Kind. After a mini facelift, lip lift and rhinoplasty I look like a more feminine and refined version of myself. The result is beautiful and natural-looking. Dr. Kind has a lovely bedside manner and was available when I had questions. His physician assistant, Candice is equally helpful and made me feel comfortable every step of the way.
Dr. Kind and his staff were phenomenal! My procedure went beyond my expectation. I have dealt with lipodystrophy on my lower back for over 15 years. It was extremely uncomfortable. I have tried endlessly to find a physician in Iowa and in Arizona. Dr. Kind and his staff worked with me to get this done! Completing this procedure changed my life! My care was exceptional!
Before starting to write this review, I took the time to read through the others' comments. I don't think I can add more than what has already been said in these wonderful reviews about Dr. Kind. He truly is an artist. He listens very carefully to your needs and as a result there is a spectacular outcome after your surgery. I have been only 9 days post-op and I already feel liberated from my prior insecurities. Dr. Kind corrected the mess that was a result of a prior surgery with another doctor. I had been to at least 4 plastic surgeons before I came in for my consult with Dr. Kind. As soon as I met him, I just knew that he was the doctor I would trust to perform my reconstructive surgery. And I am glad that I did. I feel very grateful that I found him.
As a brca1+ woman, I have researched far and wide about preventative mastectomies and reconstruction. I have interviewed countless teams and asked world wide brca groups about their surgeons and chosen procedures. I started seeing Dr. Kind regularly, years before I decided on my surgery date. I would ask him about dti, over vs under, shaped vs round, you name it. Each and every answer of his came with decades of expertise in his craft, as well as meticulous regard to my lifestyle needs and my body type. I am so incredibly happy, not only with my results, but the entire process of working with Dr kind and his team each step of the way. Not only did I slay cancer before it would kill me, but my boobs look absolutely incredible. I am forever grateful to Dr. Kind, and would recommend him in a heart beat to anyone looking to get breast reconstruction.
I’m a 54 year old man who was bothered by a sagging neck, jowls and jawline. I was referred to Dr. Kind by my general practitioner and encouraged to meet a couple surgeons before moving forward. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Kind’s caring manner and ability to translate into lay terms what he could do for me. The decision to go with Dr. Kind was a no brainer after doing my ‘homework’ and getting consultation from another Bay Area plastic surgeon. He was so reassuring and continually educated me from consultation to the operating room and throughout the months of recovery after the procedure. I couldn’t be happier with the results. He was amenable to some fillers during surgery, as well. So happy with the results. I’ve found a great professional and will be contacting him exclusively for all future procedures. THANK YOU, DR. KIND!!
I met Dr. Kind 2 yrs ago. He is so nice & personable. As a 55yr`50% burn survivor' he made me comfortable. Dr. Kind did breast recon this summer. Very Happy w Him, the outcome & staff. Marsolete Ridgell
I had breast reduction surgery and I enthusiastically recommend the procedure, and my surgeon Dr. Gabriel Kind. I thought about having the procedure for 10 years, but listened to friends who suggested I “try to loose weight instead” or that I’d “be sorry going smaller”. With the encouragement of my husband, this year I investigated the procedure more fully and decided to do it. I read reviews and visited web sites of many plastic surgeons. I picked three to interview with a personal consultation. Dr. Kind was the first consultation. He spent at least an hour with me, striving to get to know me prior to in-depth discussion of the procedure. He answered all my questions thoroughly and understandably. I was a 36DD/E and wanted to go to an A/B cup. He talked me through the options about how to achieve that significant a reduction, and the likely implications on structure and sensitivity of each option. He also said that often a cup size means different things to different people, and advised that I should go on-line and look for post-operative photos to identify the size/shape I wanted. He said he would use those as a guide for my surgery. He provided me with his email address and said that he would be happy to answer any follow-up questions I had. I did end use this email once and found he responded very promptly. After the appointment I did find photos that I felt represented the outcome I was looking for. I also found examples of “too big” and “too small”. I took these photos to the other two appointments; interestingly one of the other physicians said, “wow, it is a really good idea to use pictures this way”. Both of the doctors told me that it was unlikely they could achieve the reduction I wanted without removing/replacing my nipples, and that they would not undertake a procedure like that. One told me “you don’t want to go that small”. The other said that if I was firm on wanting that size, he would suggest doing it in two operations, rather than one. The other two doctors charged a consulting fee for this meeting, and told me that they would not bill insurance for this consultation and that they would not assist in working with my insurance company to see if the procedure could be covered. I came away with the impression that while very qualified surgeons, these two physicians choose to operate within more narrow parameters, regardless of the patient’s desired outcome. And that they were interested only in patients that did not need to use insurance. While it wasn’t absolutely necessary for me, it was a medical procedure which is covered by insurance so why wouldn’t I want to use it? My decision to have Dr. Kind complete my surgery was an easy one, and proved to be a great one. The outcome from the surgery was better than I could have imagined. The recovery from the procedure was uncomfortable at times, but not too much so. The care I received from him and his PA Candace was outstanding. His office completely managed getting the operation approved by my insurance company, and was unfailingly friendly when dealing with me. (I did have to call a number of times to get my pre-op details. In the end I asked them to email them to me instead of mail them, so I knew where to go on the day of surgery.) In terms of the details of the procedure and the recovery process: I saw Dr Kind again one more time prior to the operation to review my photos and talk through the specifics of the procedure. I decided I wanted him to make the breasts as small as possible, without removing the nipples. The operation unfolded as he had described - it took about 4 hours and I had about 1 1/2 hrs in the recovery room/discharge. I had a minimum amount of pain immediately post-surgery. I had considered staying in a hotel near the hospital because I was sure how I’d feel on the 2 hour car drive home, but I didn’t and it wasn’t necessary at all. The next couple of days, as the anesthesia wore off my pain increased but still was not significant (5 - 6). I took pain pills for the first 36 hours and then used Tylenol when needed. I was running a low fever (101.3) on the second day and called Dr Kind about it. He answered within 15 min, advised me it was likely from the pain medication. He also encouraged me to take off the dressings, take a shower, and told me that if the compression bra was bothering me at night to take it off - sleep was more important than compression. [This differed from the written post-op instructions I had been given. Make sure to review post-op details with Dr. Kind or his PA Candace prior to surgery. The post-op nurse was not helpful, just handed me the written instructions and said,“everything you need is here”. On the other hand the pre-op nurse was fabulous, so kind and informative.] The shower was wonderful! I had not understood that all the stitches were internal and the skin closed with glue (which was the cause for the purple color of my scars), which would flake off on its own. This meant that there was not need to be concerned about getting the incisions/scars wet. The purple color of the glue made the scars look much worse than they really were. Within a week or so the glue began to flake and I realized the scars were smaller than I anticipated and mostly hidden in the breast fold. I am very pleased with the uniformity and delicacy of the scars. The first few weeks the breasts were still swollen and larger than their new size. Right after surgery I had to go up a band size on my bra, but ended up going back to my original band size. Probably the most discomfort I had was between the 2 - 6th weeks. The breasts continued to feel different as the anesthesia wore off, as the numbness decreased and sensation returned. At this same time, the muscles in my ribcage were very sore/painful. At about 4 weeks the scars became more sensitive, at times so much so I didn’t wear a bra. None of this was terrible, all manageable with Tylenol. And now at 10 weeks all of these issues seem to be behind me. I am very pleased with the look of my new breasts. They are very even and uniform, and just the size I had hoped. I like how I look so much more! I am thrilled with how clothes fit. I find it much easier to exercise. It feels like a whole new me!
The platysma bands appear to have separated from the midline repair that was done. If Botox does not improve the appearance, revision surgery with partial or complete division of the platysma, along with suturing the medial edges again, would be likely to result in improvement. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. If the incisions are well-healed, with no areas of redness or scabs, and the skin is starting to look normal (around three weeks), full submersion in a pool should be ok. I think in most cases it is OK to sleep on your side right away after surgery. Both of these questions should be discussed with your surgeon, as there may be a reason to wait longer in some cases. Good luck!
It is always hard to tell for sure from a photo, but it is not uncommon to have bruising and firm areas after liposuction. They should gradually get softer over the next few weeks. If the area is not too tender, gentle massage may help soften the firm areas and make the bruises go away faster. A good time to do that is in the shower, using a little soap or shampoo on your fingertips. Good luck!
Thanks for asking. This is a question that needs to be discussed with your surgeon. Generally non-strenuous walking is encouraged for the first two weeks after rhinoplasty. Most surgeons would recommend caution with any more strenuous activity to avoid elevating your blood pressure. Good luck!
Thanks for your question. It is hard to tell from the photos, but it would not be unusual for you to have an area of scarring after a hematoma. It is possible that this will go away over time. Massage of the area may help to soften the scar tissue. If you feel that the breasts are too far apart, at this point six weeks postop, I would recommend wearing a bra that brings them together. This should be done for a month or so, and then re-evaluate. Good luck!
