It is hard to know where to start. Dr. DellaCrose was my doctor for my 2016 prophylactic bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstruction. My mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer for the Third time in the fall of 2015. When that happened, she had genetic testing done. That's when we found out she had the BRCA 2 gene mutation. Because of that, I had gene testing done on myself as well and discovered that I also carried the gene mutation. My mother had battled this disgusting disease for over twenty years. My hope was to find a way to not endure what my mother had. I'm incredibly grateful that a friend steered me in the direction of Dr. DellaCrose and the amazing staff of the Center for Restorative Breast Surgery. The other options, and I use the word "options" lightly, were not appealing. The only "options" offered to me were to have the mastectomy and install implants. I was NEVER told that there are other options available. MUCH BETTER OPTIONS!! Dr. DellaCroce made me feel comfortable and cared for from the moment we met. I wasn't just there to reduce my odds of developing breast cancer. Dr. DellaCroce wanted to make sure that I left WHOLE. He wanted to make sure that after my surgeries I would be able to look at myself in a mirror and be happy with how I looked. That I would look as good as and maybe even better than I did before surgery. I tell everyone who will listen about the compassion and care that I received from Dr. DellaCrose and his staff.
