Dr. Burstein did a wonderful job on my rhinoplasty and exceeded my expectations. I had a large dorsal bump and a tip that was narrow and pointed down. My nose detracted attention from more beautiful features in my face like my good cheekbones, bright green eyes, clear skin and pretty lips. My nose was really the only thing that didn't fit and that I was ever self conscious about. Dr. Burstein paid attention to the fine details in my nose and avoided mistakes less experienced surgeons make. He made sure to properly align my nose and made it appear symmetrical and in the right proportion to my face. I no longer have a bump and my tip looks cute. I am amazed at how natural the results look and at how well my nose fits my face now. I am very happy to have chosen Dr. Burstein as my plastic surgeon and would recommend him any day.
As most people who are born with a cleft lip, I had a number of surgeries in my youth, my previous most recent surgery had been at the age of 16, and when I was 34, I wanted another one which would hopefully be my last. I found Dr. Burstein because he is very highly rated in the cleft lip community (please don't just go by these reviews on this site for any surgeon, there are far more extensive ways to research a surgeon). I had my surgery in March of 2011 and it involved a cleft scar revision, nose repair (which involved taking cartilage from behind my ear and adding to the tip of my nose), and shaving down some of the top bone to achieve a more natural slope to the nose. Additionally I also had a sliding genioplasty and liposuction under my chin performed. I was extremely pleased with my results and my recovery was excellent as well with minimal pain (although I took the prescribed pain medications) as a precaution, I was never in any extreme pain. I don't know why a one star review was left for a patient from 12 years ago, but I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this surgeon. It's been almost 4 years since my surgery and there have been no complications or issues.
I went to him years ago. I was 27 years old. I went to him for Rhinoplasty which he done a fabulous job on. He talked me into lip revision due to my cleft lip. My upper lip is now very uneven and my bottom lip has a deep indention in it. My smile is now very unattractive and made my confidence worse. I have had to live with this all of these years. Updated on 28 Jun 2016: Ohhh how do I clean off the drawing marks??? I've tried soap...alcohol and even toothpaste. LOL!!!! Feeling better today but tomorrow I will get dressed and go out. Wanted to wait until I can discontinue the biactrin because it does not look cute or clean in my hair AT ALL!!!! I hope everyone is having a good day! :-)
I had rhinoplasty done by Dr. Burnstein and 12 years later I will be having revision rhinoplasty performed by another Dr. this year. My nose is quite a mess. Visible scarring, very visible asymmetry, deviated septum, breathing problems and all-and-all not a pretty or well-functioning nose. Having surgery is quite a big deal, I will now be paying thousands of dollars more to try to fix what has become of my nose. It is very unnerving and very scary to go through process again, knowing that secondary surgeries are more taxing. I am a 35 year old female and I had my surgery in 2002. The surgeon I am going to now (I had consultations with multiple) said Dr. Burnstein was aggressive in what he took out of my nose, leaving it to continually change over the years, the internal support structure is not in tact lost integrity over the years and will continue to do so as I age. I would have done revision earlier, but it is obviously costly, time consuming and after knowing that it can turn out not well, a very scary venture.
Adult cleft lip and palate reconstruction resolves late cleft deformities that can occur, such as misaligned jaws or teeth, speech or breathing problems, and an asymmetrical lip or nose. It is possible to augment the nose to create a more proportionate, natural result. Consult an experienced board certified reconstructive surgeon who has experience and knowledge in cleft lip and palate repair to discuss aesthetic goals, treatment plans, and financing.
Facial procedures can be combined to reduce the amount of downtime and number of operations. However, an in-person consultation is required to discuss your medical history, aesthetic goals, and questions regarding a combination facial procedure to determine if you’re a good candidate. Combination procedures can be performed and many patients elect them for overall rejuvenation so there is only one operation and recovery period. It is important to consult a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in facial procedures to carefully create a treatment plan for your needs.
Most plastic surgery procedures are reserved for patients who have reached a certain age as their body has finished developing. Many patients can undergo rhinoplasty at a young age as the nose has reached its maturity earlier than other areas of the body. However, many young patients pursue rhinoplasty to resolve functional issues that can obstruct their ability to comfortably breathe. To establish if you are a good candidate for nose surgery, contact a board certified plastic surgeon with wide experience in rhinoplasty to schedule an in-person consultation.
There are different types of Erbium lasers available to address specific skin types and skin conditions. Each laser can be customized for each patient’s specific needs. The latest Erbium technology by Sciton® can take the customization further since it’s measured in microns and can treat minor or deeper skin conditions. Therefore, the amount of downtime varies on the strength of the laser used and how many treatments a patient plans to have. Even though you say “medium treatment,” it is difficult to determine exact downtime and laser strength. It is important to consult a board certified plastic surgeon or licensed laser technician with experience particularly using Erbium lasers to discuss which treatment plan will allow a shorter recovery.
