Dr. Al-Mufarrej performed my liposuction, tummy tuck, and gynecomastia surgery, and I could not be HAPPIER! For one, a lot of plastic surgeons don't focus on guys a lot. Dr. Al-Mufarrej took a lot of time to examine my body and figure out what I needed to look great and feel confident. He did a fantastic job. I'm 6 months out from surgery; I'm 39lbs down, and I feel AMAZING. For the first time in my life, I wake up in the morning excited to look at myself in the mirror. I had been obese as a child, I lost a lot of weight and had so much extra skin that I was never satisfied with how I looked. Now, I'm truly happy with how I look.
I had my procedure done by Dr. Al-Mufarrej in Troy Mi. Dr. Al is Awesome. In my post-op, he told me exactly what to expect and what not to expect. He even told me that my butt was going to pop. After about a week, my granddaughter asked "Nana did you also get a BBL"? I said no honey. I guess Dr. Al was right about my butt popping. Also, my belly button looks amazing after having apex compared to other belly buttons I saw in this group I'm in. I can't even tell my button was moved. Dr. Al is a sculptor of your body!
Dr Almufarrej worked on a mini tummy tuck for me recently. As someone who is very afraid of surgery and after care, I cannot say enough good things about my experience. All my questions and initial doubts about the procedure faded after my initial consultation with Dr. A. The staff were friendly and uplifting and Dr. A was knowledgeable and personable and at no point was my experience uncomfortable. In pre -op, Dr A met with me to relieve any last minute questions I had and my after care by the staff was excellent. The most important thing was how available Dr A made himself to me after surgery to check on me and make sure I was comfortable and healing properly. I would ask questions almost daily and each time he would give me a call no matter what. Overall, his personal demeanor, skill level and background and training experience made my surgery a 10/10 and I would recommend him again to anyone.

Dr. Al made me feel so comfortable and at ease. He explained everything very clearly. He was very passionate about making sure he delivered what he said. No surprises. He did an amazing job. He even called me himself over the weekend to check on how i was doing. I am 1 week post surgery, and although I am sore and bruised (less and less every day) I can already see the change in my body and am super excited about my final outcome. I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Al at Sono Bello in Troy. After losing 100 pounds, I decided to have an AbEx and liposuction done on February 6, and I am beyond thrilled with the results. Great question! Undergoing a tummy tuck does not guarantee improved functionality unless you have really severe diastasis. For a minor diastasis the concerns are mainly aesthetic. Whether it’s worth it undergo the procedure for the amount of diastasis you have is a question only you can answer. Do you feel that the diastasis and fullness in the abdomen bothers you enough to undergo the procedure or are you OK living with it?
Removing the sutures would entail reopening your previous incision so it’s no minor endeavor. Unless the pain is focal and exactly the location of the sutures there’s also no guarantee that the pain is related to the sutures. The sutures could be removed and as long as your muscles are scarred they don’t need to be replaced however with the sutures removed you’re a higher risk of Muscle weakness down the line. I suggest you consider massaging the area (consistently focally and deep) to help with both breaking up the scar tissue and desensitizing the area. If that fails then you have to weigh the risks of surgery again against the severity of your symptoms.
It’s wonderful that you are happy with the result of your tummy tuck. Dealing with belly button scars can be a challenge especially when there’s not enough skin. However in your case it appears that the area is quite amenable to a scar revision which can be done under local anesthesia with minimal recovery. Bring up your concerns to your surgeon and hopefully you surgeon will be able to address your concerns pretty easily.
Often patients believe they have fat when in realty, their main issue is extra skin and/or muscle weakness. The presence of stretch marks indicate skin damage and laxity. Some type of surgical skin removal would likely be necessary. An exam by a board certified plastic surgeon will help identify whether you need liposuction (for fat), skin removal, and/or muscle repair (tummy tuck). Often patients need various combination of all three for optimal outcome, esp if you have a history of multiple pregnancies.
Yes, you appear to have good quality skin to for treatment by liposuction and Renuvion. Tummy tuck scars can be hidden with even with the smallest bathing suits. If you are concerned, bring in a suit to your consult to go over scar placement.
