Did I ruin my zoom treatment? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

You can try using take home trays and do a touch up for an hour each day until the stain is removed again. Don't worry, you should still be able to get white teeth again, it will just take a few days.

You can make the switch to 14% day white, but just be sure to take a few days off if you do develop any sensitivity. The stronger solutions are more likely to cause sensitivity.

Zoom works very well on yellowish stains, so you should see a big improvement even in just 1 session. In my opinion looking into Invisalign or ClearCorrect along with whitening may give you better results than bonding.

Yes zoom should work for your yellowing teeth. Just be aware that they may become even more transparent looking when the yellow stains are removed.

It depends a lot on your diet, but it is normal to touch up with the take home trays. Most dentists sell take home solution that works better and causes less sensitivity than the over the counter options.

It looks like you are a great candidate for clear aligners. The dentist or orthodontist would most likely expand your arches, eliminate lower crowding, correct rotations, and close upper midline gap (we call "diastema"). This can all be done with clear aligners and should also improve your side profile.

Is Medicare accepted for dental implants?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I know some dental offices have success billing Medicare for dental implants, in particular for bone grafting when it is medically necessary. It can cover some, but usually not all of the cost. The difficulty is most dental offices bill dental insurance, and Medicare is more like medical insurance so most dental offices are not experienced billing it and it is very different.

This is a pretty common issue, especially for upper lateral incisors. Chewing for about 10 minutes each time you put the aligners in helps seat them better. Using a saliva ejector to bite on works best in the areas where you notice the gaps (ask your dentist or orthodontist for a few saliva ejectors). You will notice results in a few days.

This discoloration cannot be repaired, but can easily be replaced most of the time. The part where the tooth meets the filling material or "bonding" often gets discolored after a few years, so replacing every few years is normal.

Yes the gums and bone will be different than with a natural tooth. We do typically make the crown wider to fill in the space. It is normal for floss to go deeper around an implant than around a natural tooth. We often do bone grafting and sometimes soft tissue grafting (gum grafts or PRF grafts), especially around anterior (front) teeth in order for the gums to look like the nearby natural teeth.

I highly recommend Dr. Johnson.

I highly recommend Dr. Johnson. His work is next to none. I had a tooth that kept coming out even after a previous dentist had worked on it. To this day the tooth is still amazing. Dr. Johnson was on time for the appointment and thorough with his work. The entire office staff made me feel welcome and although I hope my teeth last a long time I know I am taken care of with this Dentist.
