I am a 54 year old that has lived in the California sun my whole life. I seen a segment on Fraxel repair for lip lines that caught my attention. I would love to soften my wrinkles that I have accumulated through out the last few years and having surgery is not for me. I have researched Fraxel repair for 5 months and have gone to a few consultations. I'm scheduled for the procedure in a few days with a Dr. that I feel very comfortable with. I am mentally preparing for some pain during the procedure and the after look of my face until it heals. I have a concern with the nerve block and numbing cream that is used. I have had 2 bad reactions( rapid heart beat, panicked feeling, difficulty breathing) during dental procedures and was told it was from the epinephrine. It is causing me some anxiety which I will talk to my doctor about during my pre op consult. I will post pics of the healing process and the final outcome. Updated on 25 Jul 2012: This morning was my fraxel repair.they preformed s microdermabrasion first to allow the numbing cream to penetrate better. The whole time that I was being prer was a very relaxing experience. The two techs were very knowable and personable and shared their experiences in beauty treatments that they had.The doctor came in and gave me a loratab and 2 mg of Ativan, then later a shot of toradol. The procedure was good with very little pain( maybe a 2 or3)She explained as she was going. Was extremely dizzy and nauseous from medication. unable to keep food down. Face is in no pain what so ever. Lots of oozing. Think I will sleep well tonight. Updated on 26 Jul 2012: Fraxel was done on my whole face 7/25/2012. It was a very comfortable procedure. Did have minimal pain (2-3) on some areas some areas.Oozing and bloody afterward. Unable to hold food done probably because of medications ( Norco< 2 mg Ativan and a toradol shot.) Did not have a dental block, just the numbing cream.I am very happy with the outcome so far. It is going just the way it was explained to me.The doctor and her whole staff were friendly and informative. Updated on 27 Jul 2012: Everything going as it should, Face and eyes are swollen. some itching is starting. See the Doctor today for another check up. Can't wait for swelling to go down so I can see what the results will look like. So glad I did this procedure. Was expecting so much more pain from the post that I had read previously. Updated on 28 Jul 2012: Still swollen, getting little white bumps around mouth area, skin is sloughing off. Cleansing with mild cleanser and using hydrating moisturizer . No more vaseline. Updated on 29 Jul 2012: 4 days after fraxel..skin peeling and itchy. some swelling still. white bumps are gone. beet red color has faded to bright red. seeing new skin.I can't believe how fast this is healing. I am 54 years old and have always work outdoors and never thought much about sun protection until recently( as you can tell by the pic). I have researched fraxel repair for 5 months and have gone to 3 consultations with 3 different doctors and have decided to go forward and have a full face and neck done. I am very comfortable with the doctor that will perform my treatment and can not wait for the results. My doctor will be doing an aggressive treatment so I know my recovery will be longer than the average that has been posted. I am posting a pic as i look today and i will post pics and update the healing process as it happens. Updated on 25 Jul 2012: This morning was the day of the Fraxel repair. Had a microdermabrasion on my face to help the numing cream to absorb better. after 20 minutes my doctor came in very reassuring and gave me a Norco and 2 mg of Ativan, and later a shot of toradol.More numbing cream was applied and I was ready for the treatment ,Everything went great. I was calm and the pain went up tp a 2/3 at times out of 10. Only bad result is the medication, feeling nausea and vomitted. Face is in no pain, just scary looking. The whole time waiting for the numbing cream and pills to take effect I was with one of the techs who carried on a great conversation. going back to sleep. will update later Updated on 25 Jul 2012: Today went very well. Pain during procedure 2-3. had loratab, Ativan 2 mg, toradol injection and numbing cream. no pain now, unable to keep food down because of medicine. Face is oozing. follow up tomorrow. So far everything is going as planned. Updated on 26 Jul 2012: 24 hours after Fraxel repair and I feel great. Went to post op appt. this a.m.. Everything looks good. Very pleased with how this has gone so far. Procedure was with minimal pain. Most of the time it was a 1 or 2 on a scale of 1-10. Once it felt like a 3 around my mouth but that is where I have deep wrinkling. I was given 1 Norco and 2 mg of Ativan with a shot of Toradol. And of course the numbing cream. No Dental blocks at all. Will post again tomorrow. Updated on 27 Jul 2012: So far so good. Face and eyes are swollen, some itching is starting to happen. Can't wait for redness to go away. WARNING. The doctor is only interested in taking your money. Prices are not reflective to treatment. You ask a question and never get an answer. I paid a fortune for treatment- it didn't work as only minimal products are used to rip you off. Contacted Dr Stratte on numerous occasions- no answer back! Which reveals her true intentions. Go elsewhere.
I originally went to get a consultation because my knee was totally deformed after I had an accident a year and a half ago. I ended up getting my knee, stomach (upper and lower), and flanks. Still need to get my inner thights done. I am now 19 days post my smart lipo, and honestly I can see great results. Only concern are some of the lumps that I have. Doctor recommended but said it was not mandatory that I get the synergie massage, which they gave me one at no cost. Being that not only is it costly $1600.00 for 16 sessions, it was very far for me. I researched to see if anybody locally practiced the Synergie and came up empty handed. Then I found Endremology, which is a lot cheaper $850 for 14 sessions, and seems to be similar. Synergie/Endremology after SmartLipo - Would I get the same results without these treatments? Also, I am 3 weeks post op after my smart lipo procedure. I keep my garment on all the time except when excersising in the pool, or like Sunday when I went to the beach which I had it off like 8 hours. I noticed that after a few hours I started getting bloated. Is this normal? IS this going to happen every time I take my garment off?
