Before the operation, Dr. Felipe was very patient and friendly. I was able to breathe perfectly but wanted to change some aspects of my nose (HUGE REGRET!!!) Afterwards, I could only breathe through one side of my nose and I didn't like the results aesthetically. When I told my doctor I still couldn't breathe after six months, he calmly explained that's just the way my nose is. I was stunned and thought I'd misunderstood him. When I reached out to him after two years to let him know that I was looking for another surgeon to fix the results, he agreed to meet with me. I had told him that I was careful to chose an ENT to do the surgery and it never occurred to me that my breathing would be impaired afterwards. When I went to his office to discuss the results, he handed me a copy of one of the pre-op forms I'd signed that listed some potential side effects, including impaired breathing (and DEATH), basically accusing me of lying when I was shocked that I couldn't breathe as well. He was incapable of apologizing or accepting any responsibility for the results. It went downhill from there, and I left his office in tears after he talked down to me for 30 minutes and then, mockingly, asked why I was getting defensive. In short, I do not recommend cosmetic rhinoplasty at all. There are risks and you could very well end up with a nose you don't like that doesn't fit your face and does not function. If you already suffer from impaired breathing, I would consider an operation, because I mouth-breathing SUCKS. I don't sleep as well, I don't enjoy yoga and workouts as much, and sometimes I just cry because I find myself panting through my mouth because I'm not getting enough air. It's AWFUL. The only thing worse than a bad operation is a doctor that doesn't care and adds insult to injury. Allowing this doctor to touch my nose is one of my biggest regrets in life.
