Gap, Crocket, Can't Whiten, Want a Normal Smile, What Can I Do?(photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Well, you have a foundation for a great smile.  We need to spend more time understanding you missing tooth isses and your bite relationships. It's possible to balance you current bite and then design a new smile using veneers which can improve any shape, color or other cosmetic issues that might concern you. Veneers don't age or darken over time so they will always look nice as time goes on.

Gums Receding at Abnormal Rate, Options?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Genetics plays a very large roll in all of this and then there is oral care, cleanings and effort!  No, you can't see the gums receding but, will happen over time and possibly years. If you are to lose teeth the whole dental process becomes expensive and time consuming. You don't want that.

Which Do I Need, an Orthodontist or a Cosmetic Dentist For Issues With Front Teeth? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

While these are good answers form the other docs, it seems to me that we can't see any of your lower teeth...why?  Its most likely that you have a "lost of posterior vertical space" of which a ortho may be able to address but, if it where me I'd fine a Neuromuscular Dentist with cosmetic post. grad traning.  In this way we could open your closed space and get the final results I think your looking for!

What Can Be Done About my Gaps and Baby Teeth? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

A new smile is a beautiful gift to yourself and something you'll be proud of everyday! That being said, there are many things to think about in a case like your.  Gum issues, tongue thrusting, ortho issues, many missing adult teeth and possibly loss of vertical in your smile.  For a long term answer I would think about implants if your bone is of the proper quality.  Then, a combo restorative case of crowns and implants would be in sight.

I Have Spacing Issues, as Well as Periodontal Disease. Is Comestic Treatment Right for Me?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Seems like we are all on the same page on this issue.  Periodontal disesase is a problem that must be dealt with before any cosmetic work is to be done!  That being said, implants and cosmetic dentistry do go hand in hand and the final and stable results can be fantastic.  Please remember that if you have had perio for a while then  the possiblitlity that you have lost supprt in your bitte is a key and rebuilding the back support  will not only help you smile but, support your facial features and maybe take a few years off the aging process.

Veneer Process Preparation Question

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

WK,

A beautiful new smile is a great thing...!! Something your enjoy and wear everyday, as I have over the past 25 years!  But, the foundation of the bite and the function of the entire bite is of monument importance!  If your bite has a  normal vertical demension, or the opposite, if your teeth have been worn down or there are missing teeth is a key factor as to the life of your new smile.  I am guessing that this is the reason your dentist might be asking you to replace or repair your old silver metal fillings as well?

If you can take a photo of your current smile can see if this is the case.

All the best,

What is the Difference Between a Porcelain Veneer and a 3/4 All Porcelain Crown?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Veneers are a fantastic answer to a cosmetic problem, over the past 25 years I had the pleasure to place over 100,000 veneers.  3/4  crowns are almost the very same thing (aka PJC's in the old days).  Both work very well and if done properly can last decades.  Just ask most of Hollywood.  Cheers!

Two Recently Crowned Teeth Need Root Canals?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Is it waking you up at night?? is it a pain level of 9 out of 10? if you answered yes to both of these then the possibly of a root canal is in your future.  Hard to know without  seeing you and having the proper diagnostic's.

If its a lower level of pain I would suggest waiting for a week or two and see if the teeth settle down. There is a slight possibly that the cement or the way it was cemented is a problem yet, over time they most offen  they will claim down.  All the best!

I Have One Damaged Front Tooth and a Gap in Between my Two Front Teeth Now. How Do I Fix This on a Very Small Budget?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I agree with Dr. Berning, that without photos its hard to tell.  Sometimes a cheap fix isn't the best answer for your over all health.  While having a budget in mind is key, in my option, a quality dentist doing a venner or two to fix the broken tooth and close the gap in your front teeth is important for the overall longterm health of your smile....after all, you wear that smile everyday!  Veneers have a long life, if done correctly and more conservative that crowns, which later can turn dark in color at the gumline.  All the best!
