Dr Roth came highly recommended to me and he did not disappoint. He was precise, deliberate and thorough regarding pre surgery measurements and the outcome was everything I had hoped for. Professional and courteous and so was his staff.
Dr. Douglas Roth is an outstanding plastic surgeon! First and foremost, he is extremely professional and knowledgeable. On initial consultation he provided in-depth information on the surgical options available. He is very compassionate, listens to the patient, and a true patient advocate. Most importantly, his expertise on plastic surgery is evident by his work. I highly recommend Dr. Roth.
I have been a patient of Dr. Roth's for many years now. Dr. Roth has performed my breast reconstruction surgeries. He is amazing. Compassionate, extremely knowledgeable - totally versed the latest surgical techniques/options, engaging and does beautiful work. He wants the best outcome for his patients. Dr. Roth is upfront about the complexity of the procedure and he ensures proper pain management protocols are in place. Partners well with other physicians engaged in the patients medical care. Cannot recommend him highly enough.
I had abdominal liposuction with Dr. Roth and my results are amazing, better than I had imagined. He was professional and honest during the initial consultation. The staff and anesthesiologist were wonderful during the procedure, I didn't feel a thing. At my follow-up appointment it was clear that he really cared about my results. The downside is having to wear the compression garment after, it was uncomfortable at first, but it is so important and did help with swelling. His Nurse Practitioner was so helpful and gave me great tips. It was a great experience and I wish I had done it sooner.
I cannot rave enough about Dr. Roth! He is what I would wish every physician could be for every patient. My first experience with him was in 2003 for reconstructive surgery after breast cancer and a bilateral mastectomy. I could not have found anywhere a more caring, respectful or pleasant plastic surgeon to carry me through the process. But honestly it went well beyond that. His personality was such that I so looked forward to my visits during the process. As I look back at those trying times, what I remember most is how much we laughed and how seamless the whole process was! More recently (a few months ago), one of the implants ruptured and once again, my experience with Dr. Roth was incredible. I was dealing with insurance issues at the time as well and Dr. Roth was SO helpful and right on top of what needed to be done in such a timely manner that I honestly still can't believe it! And all with that same wonderful personality and expertise! In a time when there are so MANY challenges in traversing the world of health care and finding the perfect physician, I find myself beyond fortunate to have simply stumbled upon (back in 2003) the perfect physician and surgeon that Dr. Roth is. I am forever grateful! He is truly a gift.
I had a breast reduction and lift with Dr. Roth November 2017. It was the most amazing experience. He was so kind, and patient. His staff was attentive, always available, and they always make themselves available to see me every time I questioned the way I was healing. This was my first time under anesthesia and the first time I have ever had surgery. I had a lot of questions and concerns! My original consult was for a mommy make over. Dr Roth kindly explained I would be much happier with my results if I lost weight. I was so grateful for his honesty. He was my third consult, and although the other two surgeons were more than happy to operate on me, I knew it was probably not the safest way. I’m very lucky to have found a professional, ethical, highly qualified surgeon to guide me properly and not be driven my money. God bless his hands. I hope to see him next year once I reach my goal weight.
I consulted with Dr Roth a year before deciding to have a breast reduction/lift and tummy tuck - I was having a hard time making the decision. He was patient, honest, and realistic. When I came back having decided to do the procedure, he was again super kind, realistic and patient with me. His staff was amazing helping to figure out Insurance for the breast component. The procedure was about 5 total hours at NWH and they were fabulous. Aside from a little nausea after anesthesia I had minimal discomfort and was able to get out of bed the day after surgery. I am amazed at the results. I went from a 32 F floppy breasts to a perfect C cup, and trim tummy - all symmetrical. What liked about Dr Roth was he was honest and skilled and patient - and the facility and his staff were awesome. The hospital was super close to my home making it very easy for my family. I should add I am a physician and am giving this honest strong recommendation because I struggled making this decision and it was the best decision ever.
(6 days Post Op) Today's Date: October 23rd 2013 Hi all.. I wanted to write this post up to help other girls & women going through what I went through/am going through. Some quick stats about me: 19 years old 5'2'' 115 lbs Fit Yet constant shoulder and upper and lower back pain Wearing a size 32H bra that was already too small by procedure date. Bra straps digging into shoulders and band digging into torso.. huge red marks by end of the day. Went through 6 mos of physical therapy with no relief So, January 2013, after 2 years review, I decided to go to my doctors and begin a case with insurance for a BR. It was a long and difficult process that didn't get approved until late July 2013 and the earliest apptmt I could book was October 17th 2013. But well worth every minute thus far - had to have notes from my general physician, physical therapist, orthopedist and plastic surgeon. I went through (as previously stated) 6 mos of phys. ther. for shoulder and back pain - the physical therapists were wonderful but even they knew the issue would only be corrected by surgery. Fast forward to October: Week of - reminded all my professors (i am a full time art student) that i would be out of class for 1 - 2 weeks. And caught up on a much work as i could before hand. day before my procedure: Went about my day normally but couldn't eat or drink after midnight. Day of (Oct 17 2013): Got to the hospital at 1230pm - what a beautiful facility. They checked me in - asked for a urine sample - dressed me in the gown and socks and took my vital signs. Asked about allergies - spoke with anesthesiologist with parents... after all was said and done my nurse & anesthesiologist brought me into the OR (between 120& 145pm). It was definitely nerve-wracking going into the OR - I had never had surgery before. There were a handful of nurses in there (not including the nurse who walked me in), plus my anesthesiologist. They had me lay down on the table and told me they'd be putting in the iv for the anesthesia and I said okay - they said I probably wouldnt remember anything past that point - and placed the mask over my face and thats all I remember. Apparently I was out of surgery by 5pm. I vaguely remember feeling very groggy and waking up (in what i found out to be the recovery room later on). The nurse asked me how i felt and i kept saying good thank you - i was glad the surgery was over. I was in and out of sleep at this point. By 6 pm I was wheeled into my own room in the pediatrics wing (not sure why i was there but i was)- and i started becoming more alert by the time i woke up in my room. I was so lucky to have my own room and bathroom. I remember feeling very thirsty when I finally came to. I drank a lot and peed a lot. All the nurses were so kind and helpful. I was on percocet too so i was in and out of sleep for that night and the following three days. I remember pain but far less than i had expected going in. Running out now - will post more about day of op and day after and week after soon. Updated on 24 Oct 2013: So Thursday night by 7 or 8 I was STARVING! I ate a full meal and then some more food - my nurse got nervous that I would throw it all back up but I kept it down. Sleeping was tough - i woke up every 4 hours to ask for 2 more percocet..by Friday night my PS (Dr Roth) came in and removed my drains - glad my mom was there to hold my hands -- it was a bit uncomfortable. Afterwards I was discharged and went home and slept... Saturday and Sunday were slight progressions - less pain ... i only took 1 percocet and spaced it out to every 6 hrs. Sunday my mom helped me shower and I saw my breasts for the first time since the surgery! Yay little frankensteinboobs! At the end of my shower I felt very faint and nauseous and had to lay down in bed. I ended up sleeping for 5 hours. It was very difficult to get up and out of bed so it was such a blessing having my friend and parents around from Friday Day 1 after surgery till Monday Day 4. After Sunday I only took the Percocet Tuesday & Wednesday at night before bed -when the pain was the worst- I didnt need it during the day. Wednesday Oct 23 ( 6 Days Post op) during the day was my 1st post op visit w/ my PS He said that my breasts are perfect and that I'm healing so rapidly that my chest looks like its already 2-3 weeks post op instead of 6 days! He took about 3 stitches out from each nipple and scheduled me for my 2nd pre-op the following Monday Oct 28 to take out some more stitches Updated on 18 Nov 2013: Hi all... Went to the Dr. today for my 1 month post-op checkup... He said my breasts look perfect! He gave me a scar treatment gel called Kelo-cote to use. I am now allowed to wear underwire bras again! And he thinks I will be a C. Yay!! Time to go shopping! Updated on 27 Jan 2014: Hi All, Been very busy. So It's a little past 3 mos post op! YAYYY! I have full sensation back in my breast and nipple. Sometimes a little twinge of pain that goes away within 5 minutes. Kinda like bumping into something. Nothing bad at all. The scars are still pretty thick but I'm still healing. My dr. said everything looks great. I agree. Right now I am in either a 32 DD or 32 DDD depending on the brand of the bra. But even though they're still "big" they feel small to me. It's a world of a difference or in my case at least 4 cup sizes hah. I just started kick boxing and yoga to get back into shape. It's hard but I love it. I feel more confident and my shoulders and back feel better too. I can finally do something physical without worrying about the pain or awkwardness of my breasts. I took this photo last night after wearing my bra for like 12 hrs so you can see the indentations from the bra between the breasts and on top. those marks are NOT scars. I have "lollipop" scars (around the areola and straight down. Hope this helps convince people to go forward with their surgery and be more confident about their choice. I've started kickboxing and Yoga!!!
You would benefit from a breast reduction which reshaped and resizes the breasts. This also corrects the symptoms of back pain, neck pain, etc. The insurance coverage is a more complicated process.
