No need to worry. Some patients do not experience xerosis (drying of their skin, lips, or inside their nose) with isotretinoin (Accutane) treatment. The standard range of dosing for Accutane is 0.5-1mg/kg/day. Often, patients are started on the lower end of that range in the early stages of their treatment. This can help prevent a cystic acne flare in the first few weeks of treatment. Also, your doctor can ensure that you are tolerating the medication well with no major side effects.
