I just had breast implant transfer from having tissue expanders - my left boob looks different. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your question brownowl. From your photos, you appear to have an excellent reconstruction. I do see the lines that concern you and this could be rippling, however, it could also just be related to postoperative swelling secondary to internal scar release at the time of your exchange. I would give it at least 8-12 weeks to settle before being overly concerned about it. If you do have rippling after the implants settle and swelling resolves, the easiest way to mask it is via fat grafting. Your board certified plastic surgeon will be able to help you along the way. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your questions girlonthetrain. The best way to determine the appropriate treatment for your situation is through an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. At that visit they would be able to determine your functional and aesthetic concerns and discuss appropriate methods to address each.  Hope this helps.

As a mail carrier walking daily how much fat will I lose from the BBL?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question tara3925. It is important to know that liposuction, in of itself, is not considered a weight loss procedure. Although during a BBL fat is removed from body areas, much of this fat will be purified and re-injected into the buttock region. The amount of fat removed and injected into the buttocks varies by individual and among surgeons. Your best bet is to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss their personal technique.  Hope this helps.

I have a pushing feeling on the right boob, could it be a hematoma? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your question PaulaF93. The best way to determine for sure that everything is progressing as it should following your breast augmentation, is to get in to see your plastic surgeon. Based on your photo and description of symptoms, this most likely represents common muscular symptoms following submuscular breast implant placement. Although the same procedure is performed on both sides, sometimes the breasts can swell differently leading to some asymmetry. Likewise, if there is asymmetry preoperatively, then this asymmetry will persist, and can sometimes be more noticeable, postoperatively. Are you right handed? Have you been more active recently? All of these things can lead to swelling in the postoperative period. I generally do not worry about minor asymmetric swelling unless it persists beyond 12 weeks. However, for peace of mind, you should contact your surgeon for evaluation. Hope this helps!

Is it possible to fix the bump on the bridge without cutting or affecting the tip at all?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your question kuma425. The short answer to your question is, yes, nasal dorsum work can be performed without alteration of the tip structures. The long answer is, you should see a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in-office visit and assessment of your concerns to develop the appropriate surgical treatment plan for you. Hope this helps!

Hole in tummy tuck incision (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hi hecaa005. Thanks for your question. Based on your photograph, it looks like you are "spitting a stitch", meaning your body is breaking down the internal absorbable sutures placed during closure of your abdominoplasty incision. I would recommend seeing your plastic surgeon in person so they can evaluate you, and provide reassurance. Hope this helps.

Can I get all of the fat in my body transfers to my breast and butt and How long would recovery be?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Hi England1995. Thanks very much for your question. Based on your comments and description, you are seeking what many plastic surgeons consider a "mommy makeover". Your candidacy for any/all of the operations necessary to address your concerns would be best determined with an in-person discussion with a board-certified plastic surgeon. From a recovery perspective, it really depends upon what procedure you are having and what your activity level is on a daily basis. Price can vary by procedure, region, and surgeon so it's difficult to give a ballpark figure, but expect that it could be well into the $20-30,000 range for all of the things you have listed (brazilian butt lift, liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast lift, etc). Hope this helps.

Would a complete augmentation be a better choice than only replacing my one implant?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Thanks for your question ashleyfox. The best way to determine your surgical options is through an in-person visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon. We see your situation commonly in the reconstructive population. Based on your description, you are likely either a candidate for some capsule release with a possible implant exchange on the augmented breast vs. a lift on the non-augmented side vs. both. Hope this helps.

Gynecomastia surgery after weight loss. Can you help? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Thanks for your message hugme1! Congratulations on your weight loss - that is fantastic! Based on your photographs, both recommendations are correct. Skin resection and mastopexy, in your case, are the same thing. I recommend you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for a thorough discussion of the procedure in detail so you can get a true sense of risks, benefits, and expectations. Hope this helps!\
