Surgery went well. I can't seem to get my brain to understand that the majority of my stomach is no longer inside of me! Lol! Surgery was at 1:00 this afternoon, and I was in recovery by 3:30. I've been able to "eat" 2 1/2 cups of ice. My belly is sore, but manageable. The extra CO2 is more annoying than the incisions right now. Dilaudid and Morphine are my friends right now! Lol! Time for a nap.
I can't believe that 2 yrs of research, inquiry, doctors appointments and hard work has finally brought me to this day!! Nerves, excitement and anticipation are zipping through my veins! post photos as this journey continues. More photos/posts to come as I move towards a healthier, happier, thinner me!! Updated on 13 Aug 2015: Sorry I've taken so long to write this update. My surgery date was last Friday, 8/7/15. Surgery went really well. I was discharged on Sunday 8/9. Recovery has been good. I have had 5 previous abdominal surgeries, 3 c-sections, gall bladder, and hernia. I was expecting the usual pain and discomfort, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I have much more mobility with this surgery. I'm going to assume that having all of the incisions from this surgery above my belly button has something to do with it. All I know, is that while there is pain and discomfort, it is so much easier to handle than all of my other abdominal surgeries. Thank God!! I took my weight on a home scale before I left for the hospital on Friday, and I checked my weight again today and I have lost 12 lbs already!!! I'm not sure if I should be happy, or concerned. I've been doing well getting all of the water and protein drinks down. I've managed to drink over the 64oz minimum everyday.....until today. It's 10:30 at night and I've only managed 44 ounces all day. Any suggestions out there? I'm going to call my nutritionist tomorrow. Well, off to bed for me. I'll add more when I can.
