Hi AnxiousCat917!The main purpouse of crowns is to reinforce and bring back the function as a regular tooth. Obviously you have to take the same cares like any other natural tooth, brushing , flossing, using the waterpik and avoiding biting pens, open bottles or plastic chip bags, etc, . Why we would place something fragile to not last long?
There is very low percentage of people allergic to the cement used to glue the crown to the tooth , the recommendation is to make a blood test with an allergist specialist, which is the indicated person to diagnose all the quimics, drugs and food you are allergic to. The problem with the new crown is you are having food packaging between your teeth that must not happen, the contact need to be not to tight and not too loose to avoid the situation, and be able to floss. Your natural teeth used to have softly curved borders, and the laterals shorter than the centrals, in the veneers pictures, the laterals looks like they are the same size as the centrals and flat borders, the ideal would be flat border, but not too much on centrals, and 1 or 0.5 mm shorter and curved laterals. The side contacts between the teeth it has to be smooth not too straight and tight. Greetings!
Hello bruklin85! The crowns sometimes can have the margin a bit higher on the palate o lingual side, on the cheeks and lip side it's a must to be at the gum level for esthetics. If you feel a gap or bump between the crown and the tooth margin, there it can be a filtration. If the surface between the tooth and the crown feels smooth, there is no problem. The bite it has to be like you used to bite before the crowns, comfortable, which means it need an adjustment. Greetings!
The composite filling on impacted wisdom teeth is contraindicated, if the food get stuck in the gap either will get stuck with a composite filling or worse, you can get an infection surround the tooth gum, due to the bacterias and food packing. The only solution is to extract the wisdom tooth. Greetings!
