I had liposuction only done in October of 2017, and was told by my Plastic Surgeon that if I was wanting to further the results I could have a mini-tummy tuck, or panniculectomy. The lipo worked well for me but I had loose skin in the lower abdomen that I couldn't get rid of. After scheduling and rescheduling due to personal/work issues, I eventually landed on April 23, 2019. I wish I had done it sooner. The procedure was done with local freezing, with additional liposuction. I was awake and aware of everything and although I am a bit squeamish, it was a bearable process. I am only 4 weeks post op right now, but I can already see the difference that it has made and how much more comfortable I am in a pair of jeans without my "mommy tummy" bulge. The recovery has been much easier than I anticipated. At first I was given Oxycontin for the pain but I didn't need to take it, I used Advil and Tylenol every 4 hours for the first 4 days, then backed off to just when needed. After 2 weeks I didn't take anything, and the pain was only on a scale of 1-10 only around a 4 or 5 level. Today I am pain free, with only a bit of swelling later in the day. I do wear the binder at night and take it off during the day but I did wear it day and night for the 1st 3 weeks as prescribed by the PS. The only advice I have is that if you are wanting to do this, it is the least amount of recovery time because your muscles are not affected so the healing is less time and sitting up and laying down doesn't hurt, just might pull a little while healing. I'm very happy with the results and feel that I can now fit into my clothes better, wear a bathing suit without being embarrassed, and like I said, I wish I had done it many years ago! The Plastic Surgeon and his team are very caring and answered all of my questions to alleviate my fears. I didn't include a cost of this because it was included in the original Liposuction cost, which I find is very fair.
Very kind and compassionate. I had to have skin cancer removed from my nose - he assured me it would look good when he was done, as I was worried. He did a fantastic job and I had no problems. You can barely tell today that I ever had surgery.
