Dr Sherman blew my expectations out of the water. Surgery terrified me until Dr. Sherman. She made me feel safe and special. Great service and better surgical results. I highly recommend Dr. Sherman to friends and family!
I have visited Dr. Sherman's office for Botox and Kybella and have had a wonderful experience each time. Allie, my nurse, is so knowledgeable and she made sure to fully explain each procedure, what to expect during and after and answered any and all questions I had with professionalism and patience. She is the best! I do not anticipate going any where else for any procedure I can get administered at Dr. Sherman's office.
I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Sherman to others. Dr. Sherman performed eyelid reduction and brow lift surgery on me nearly a year ago. Shortly after my procedure, my father loved the results and went to Dr. Sherman for eyelid reduction surgery. She is very professional, confident and delivers the highest quality… exceeding my/our expectations. Following her and her staffs advice pre and post operation, swelling and bruising was minimal relatively speaking for the facial area. I had no idea how much my eyelid reduction would improve my field of vision- in a word, amazing. My father echoes the same about his results! When returning to work at the office, people thought I looked refreshed and asked where I went on vacation… they wanted to go. When I told them about my surgery, people commented that I looked great, even younger, though they would never had thought I had cosmetic surgery. Needless to say, I had a great experience and I am so happy I was in the great care of a fantastic surgeon; one I highly recommend!
Dr. Sherman & her staff were very pleasant & accomadating to become acquaited with. I am very please with the outcome/results of my surgery that Dr. Sherman has performed. She took the time to explain the procedure in addition to any possible negative results that could occurr for my understanding BUT everything went well with no post surgical problems. She is VERY please in addition to myself with the textbook outcome from her expertise in this area.
Dr. Sherman has a very courteous and professional staff and left no stone unturned to make my surgery as easy and relaxing as possible. I had no fears of worries that I wasn't in the best hands possible. She forged through some very inclement weather to make my surgery happen on schedule and for that I am truly grateful. She has a wonderful reputation as a person and a Dr and I was completely delighted with my results. Updated on 19 Mar 2015: My eyes where almost hidden under my hooded lids and brow, so I decided to check with Dr. Sherman about my options. I was delighted to hear what she could offer and the results are amazing! I'm just ecstatic to be able to wear eye makeup again and look at myself in the morning without having to squint to see!
The only ego issue about having cosmetic surgery is to admit you are old enough to need it. Every time my wife took my photo, she chided me, "-- open your eyes". Each morning the dark circles and bags under my eyes would stay until i had soaked them thoroughly in the shower. When we stayed up too late, my wife kept asking me, "-- are you falling asleep, --- well then why are your eyes closing?" Yet when I told her I was having the procedure, she was to first to say I did not need it. So with little encouragement I stepped ahead with Dr. Sherman. I look and feel better, fresher and maybe younger, but still age appropriate as the Doctor would say. One important point, I have probably never experienced so much service for such a small amount of money. The approximate $3,000+ which was my out of pocket share got me an incredible amount of the Doctor's time in consultation, hours in the operating room, as well as the procedures by her able staff and 'virtually unlimited' after care. I have spent more money on car repairs, pieces of furniture or household restructures, gotten less value for the money and was never treated to such levels of expertise {especially when considering the complexities of modern medicine required for this job). What a bargain! And with little or no pain and about a week's worth of minimal discomfort.
I've always had hooded eyelids and started having unsightly wrinkles on upper eyelids in 2010-2011. I've also had congenital ptosis of right eye my whole life, but that will not be focus here. I will be sharing my experience with bilateral upper blepharoplasty at the age of 49. It is now September 4th and I do see an improvement, but also see that my creases are not defined, and am hoping this will change. I am also still noticing some of the same wrinkles as before. My surgeon told me to only expect a 30% improvement after surgery. I also wanted to have ptosis surgery on right eye at the same time, but doctor did not feel like my ptosis was bad enough to warrant surgery. I still plan to have it repaired in the future because it really becomes uncomfortable at times. Updated on 17 Oct 2015: I really hoping creases will be smooth in time. Updated on 20 Nov 2015: I had some milia that is dissapating to right bleph scar. Scars still raised. Both have crinkles still. The one on right is crooked. Will my scars flatten and smooth? I also have moderate sized raised vein near right eyelid incision. Can this be removed? Updated on 20 Nov 2015: Updated on 4 Jan 2017: I'm wanting to know what can be done to smooth creases on upper eyelids. I had upper bleph done 1 1/2 years ago. I'm pretty satisfied except that eyelids are too crinkly. I'm not sure if revision may be needed. Or possible fillers, Botox. I'm interested in least evasive as possible. I'm satisfied with Dr. Sherman, and plan to have her assess once more before I go elsewhere.
Volbella results differ from patient to patient, depending on the patient and who is injecting the product. Volbella is an extremely delicate filler. The method of injection often determines the outcome, as to whether your lips look fresh and hydrated vs an overdone "trout pout" set of lips. That's why it is important to see a master injector when you are considering having your lips enhanced. With lips, minute details matter, and often less is more in terms of safety and outcome. Volbella gives a very soft appearance, smoothing fine lines and giving a more hydrated appearance. It does not give a lot of volume. This filler lasts around one year in the lips. In our office, we use a topical numbing cream before injection to make the treatment more comfortable. Volbella also has lidocaine (a numbing agent) in the filler itself. You really need a 6-point lip analysis to assess critical shape, volume, and overall delicate architectural points to create a natural, rosebud lip.
To improve the appearance of your lower lid, there is more than one treatment option because there is more than one cause making your under eye appear tired. For the smile lines (crow's feet), treatment with Botox or Dysport would be most effective. The lower lid bag may be treated surgically with a lower lid blepharoplasty to reduce the "puff" beneath the eye. Non-surgically, the cheek may be treated with filler. As you age, you begin to lose facial fat. When facial fat is lost in the cheek, your lower lid loses its support and lengthens, causing a more tired, worn appearance. Treating the cheek gives lift to the overall facial structure and support back to this area, shortening the distance between your lower eyelashes and the top of your cheek. This gives a more refreshed appearance and reduces much of the shadow cast on the lower lid. This, however, would not remove any of the fat pocket of your lower lid. Only surgery can do that.
Juvederm Volbella is an elegant, delicate filler with indication for perioral rhytids (lip lines) and lip volume. When injected correctly, Volbella gives beautiful results. Volbella smooths lip lines above and in the body of the lip, achieving a more hydrated appearance with subtle volume. But for the patient seeking to achieve significantly increased volume, another filler may be more effective in achieving a more voluminous lip. Bruising after having your lips injected is common and may last anywhere from 3-10 days, depending on the person.
In the clinical study, taking Tylenol or 600mg of Ibuprofen one hour before and 4-6 hours after Kybella injections was the only measure that significantly reduced pain and discomfort. In our practice, we offer topical anesthetics, anesthetic blocks, and a special icing protocol that has been met with high patient satisfaction, most patients reporting only mild discomfort during the procedure. Every patient is different and has a different pain threshold, so we customize the comfort measures to each individual patient. We believe that elevating the head and icing 6-24 hours after the procedure is helpful. Avoiding salt and alcohol can also minimize retention of fluid. It is important to remember that the swelling is a sign of the inflammatory response that removes the fat cells after they have been destroyed. Because the swelling plays a role in retraction and enhancing your profile, we tell our patients "Call me if you don't swell!" The swelling is a sign that the Kybella is working as expected! In our experience, Kybella works EVERY time.
Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, a first-in-class FDA-approved treatment that targets fat cells and permanently destroys them so that the area can no longer accumulate fat. After the fat cells are destroyed, your body produces an inflammatory response, which can cause skin retraction. You really need to see a Master Kybella Injector who is a trained professional, well-versed in the anatomy of the neck. They will assess the laxity of your skin in order to determine if you are or are not a Kybella candidate, best treated with combination therapy or other treatment modalities.
