At 3 weeks, there are still some changes and likely some relaxation depending upon the technique used that may occur. Certainly discuss this with your surgeon who may be able to better guide you as to what you can expect in the coming months. Good luck! David Sarcu, MD
A smile is actual the result of multiple facial muscles acting in combination to move portions of the lip and the cheek. There are different classification systems for smiles, but generally speaking, when there is too much show, botox can be used to decrease some of the selective muscle action. This can then decrease some of the gum show. Care must be taken as to which muscles are injected in order to get the result that is sought after. This is something best discussed in a consultation with an experienced injector. Good luck! David Sarcu, MD
Often these tend to heal over with new skin, preventing the tear from closing again. This can usually be repaired in the office under local anesthesia, followed by re-piercing if desired after enough time for healing. Good luck! David Sarcu, MD
While there are many techniques and some variability between surgeons as to how they do them, typically a deep plane facelift involves excising excess SMAS during the lift. Good luck!
Botox works in the muscle it is injected into. Depending on the dilution and techniques, there is some spread of the botox after injection and it may effect unintended surrounding musculature. The good news with botox is that its effects are not permanent, but can last for up to 4 months depending upon the dosage used. Would certainly be worth discussing with your injector. Good luck!
