Decided to go with Invisalign to straighten my teeth. Braces weren't an option as a kid as I was the middle child of 5 and was the only one to inherit a large midline diastema from my mother and grandmother. I despised it but had to deal with it. I knew at some point when I got the opportunity I would want to correct my teeth and that time has come!! Sept.15th I went in for a consultation and realized then that Invisalign would be the way to go as I didn't want chunky braces as a 30 year old. Nov. 3rd my Trays were available for pic up at the office and that's where I received trays 1-10 to start, changing weekly every Thursday. Updated on 15 Dec 2016: Ending of tray 6 and I see no noticeable differences yet. Updated on 20 Dec 2016: Not very nice to look at but can't wait to compare these pics to my final results! Updated on 22 Dec 2016: I love the tightness of a new tray for some odd reason. Lol. Was too excited to wait until tonight so I popped them in now at 11:53 am. Lots of pressure but no pain at all. Updated on 31 Dec 2016: I'm two day into tray 9 and I feel the most pressure in my bottom right side. Updated on 12 Jan 2017: Late but here are a couple pics during my wear time. Updated on 16 Jan 2017: So this past Thursday was my ortho appointment where I received trays 11-20. They attempted to reapply an attachment that had fallen off but was unsuccessful and didn't seem to think it was a big deal, which I thought was weird since it happens to be on a "problem tooth". I also received elastics for my left side. I'm four days into tray 11 and I have to admit, this tray had me contemplating if I had made the right choice by taking the Invisalign route. They were extremely painful to put on and take off. Luckily it has subsided a bit and I don't have a mini panic attack at the thought of removing and putting back in. Yes they were that intense. On a good note, I have finally gotten the hang of putting the elastics on, which was a major challenge for me. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Decided not to wait until tonight to switch trays. I'm feeling a bit of pressure but nothing as intense as tray 11! These ones have the bite ramps in the back of the tooth next to my right front tooth and the tooth next to my left front tooth which makes it really weird trying to find a comfortable way to close my mouth. It will definitely take some getting use to. Updated on 22 Jan 2017: Updated on 28 Jan 2017: Updated on 10 Feb 2017: So I didn't post tray 14 because I really didn't notice much changes. Now I'm on to tray 15 and decided to compare from when I first began and the changes are amazing! It makes me much more eager and excited to see what my final results will look like. Updated on 7 Aug 2017: So I totally got caught up in life & forgot about these updates. Currently I'm on tray 40, 3 days before changing into tray 41 of 45 :) It's been one helluva ride I must say. A lot has transpired since starting like me being pregnant. Ohhhh how much I've cursed Invisalign's name while going through morning sickness lol. Yeah, it was definitely a point where I contemplated giving up, it was terrible. Really don't have much to say tbh. I'll leave some pics of progress so far.
I have always had crowding and even as a child would not smile, so now I am in a position to get braces for myself I've decided to get them. I am a 28 year old male and was never able to convince my mom to pay for them as she was afraid of dentist. My sister has always had pretty food teeth. I finally have a good job that will cover some of the cost. Updated on 5 Jul 2016: Finally had my teeth scanned and my braces will be installed next week super excited Updated on 15 Jul 2016: I chose ceramic braces and they feel bulky surprisingly no pain at all
Love my experience so far with Invisilign Teen. 58 upper & 58 lower trays. I'm on Tray 42 now and my mouth looks amazing! I have attachments on top and bottom, this makes it a little hard to remove when needed! You only remove them before eating, after brush your teeth and floss before putting them back in. You have to wear them at least 22 hrs a day for them to work! Believe me they work! Updated on 8 Jul 2013:
I believe that my orthodontist is faking crazy so that he can postpone me getting my braces off so that he can be paid before they are perfect..(i owe him 275..they will be paid off then) everything looks good to me except my right lower incisor..i feel like it should be further back..on my last adjustment which was September 28 2015 they didn't change my wire they just changed the power chain and elastics..im wearing the same elastics that i have been wearing for a year..clearly they aren't fixing the issue..she said oh they look great they will come of November 9 I'm like how? Cant you see they aren't even? She calls the doctor and he goes oh what you see and what i see are two different things..um okay? I feel like he is waiting for me to pay the 275 and then he will fix it...what's going to happen is i'll pay the 275 and come In on the 9th of november (deband date)...he will go ohhhh we just need to tweak this and then he will actually adjustment me how I'm supposed to be adjusted and change the (Demand date) (i guarantee it) DR. CARTER OF CARTER ORTHODONTIST IN AUGUSTA,GA
I went to the dentist on the 21st to pay, fill out paperwork, to take pictures of my teeth with that machine they used, to take pictures, and xray. My dentist said it would take about three to six weeks for my first set of trays to arrive. Also the reason I decided to go with this is I just turn 15 on the 25th and I'll be a sophomore in high school.
