QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Would you do a retreat or would you pull for an implant? Root canal done 2001 (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
You should attempt the retreatment of the root canal.  Nothing is better than having a natural tooth let alone avoid the surgery and cost of an implant.

is this shade bl4? Because it sure appears much darker! Help! Final cementing is Thursday the 23rd of April. (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
If holding the shade tab up next to the veneer doesn't answer your question then use a shade gun.  Many dentists like myself have a digital shade matching gun.  It will test the shade of porcelain and measure shade in teeth.

Hello! What would be the best treatment for a minor gap in between the front incisors? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
... is Invisalign.  You would have to be evaluated by a dentist.  Porcelain veneers permanently alter your tooth structure and orthodontic treatment does not.  Consider these two options carefully.

What is the cost of one implant?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Yes, they vary.  In my office, a simple implant to replace a single tooth costs $2400 from start to finish.  Be aware that additional fees will apply when extraction, bone graft preservation or other work is needed.

Can I Get Veneers if I Have Bruxism? I Diligently Wear a Customised Occlusal Splint. (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

wear your bruxism splint religiously while you sleep.  In the unlikely event a veneer breaks or comes uncemented, you and your dentist can deal with it.  Keep in mind, you will need a new bruxism splint after the veneers are cemented on.

Ultrasonic Cleaner for Invisalign Trays?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Ultrasonic cleaners with a cleaning agent like RetainerBrite is a terrific way to clean appliances.  Cheap battery operated ones will do the job.  I hand one out to every Invisalign patient.

If I Wear my Invisalign Trays for 22.5-23 Hrs a Day, Can I Change Them at Exactly 2 Weeks?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

If you wear the trays 23 hours a day or better yet, take them out to eat and then put them back in again, you should be able to change aligners every 2 weeks.

What Would Make Someone Not a Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

All of these are contraindications to porcelain veeners.  Grinding habits and bad bites can cause too much stress on the veneer and it will break or come off.  Heavily restored teeth should receive a full porcelain crown instead of veneer because they are not strong enough.

What is the Difference Between Invisalign Expansion and the Use of a Palate Expander?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

A palatal expansion appliance is much more powerful and can expand the bone of the maxilla.  Invisalign is very limited in its capability to expand an arch and it almost never involves the jaw bone itself.

Will Invisalign Work for Me?!? Crowding and Overbite

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I looked at your photos and although I can't see your bite, I don't see any reason why you couldn't be a candidate for Invisalign.  Expect to pay $3500-$5000 for treatment.  It's hard to give you any more information specific to your case without seeing you in person.
